Friendly neighborhood dining joint. I went mid-day and there were plenty of locals getting lunch. They have fire heaters outside on during chilly days which is appreciated. The staff is very friendly. I came for the fish and chips and was happy. I would’ve worked there for a while but I was warned their wifi isn’t very good.

We visited La Jolla on a Wednesday (3/27) afternoon. Started to get hungry and was looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. Found this place just a few blocks from where we parked. From the outside, Public House La Jolla looks pretty chill with patio and interior dining. We opted for seating on the patio. Very cool spot that’s outside but also shaded.

Our server (Jasmine A) was fantastic! She answered all our questions including my beer questions! She was hospitable, polite, and friendly. Her service is a solid 5/5!

We ordered the Mushroom Bacon Burger, Two Tacos, a Chicken Apple Havarti Sandwich, and Kids Chicken Strips. Everything turned out very good. My burger did turn out a little more well done than medium but still tasted very good. The Chicken Strips unfortunately had more batter than chicken and was a bit on the oily side. The fries were very good. My beer (8 Bit IPA as suggested by Jasmine) was very very good. Food overall is a 4.5/5.

Value to price ratio is probably a 3.5/5. The food here is pricey for burgers, fries, tacos, and chicken strips. Burgers will set you back about $20+ or more. My burger was $24. Tacos are about $10 each. Beers are about $9. Our total for 5 to dine here for lunch came out to about $162 with tax and tip.

Over all experience is here is about a 4/5. If you decide to dine here, expect to pay a premium for the food but you won’t walk away hungry. The portions should be large enough for just about anyone. The beer is very good! You do have to pay to taste test which was interesting. Most other places will offer free taste test. Service is very good. Our server (Jasmine) was wonderful and made us feel comfortable. Public House La Jolla tops my list of eateries and comes highly recommended if you’re looking for a place with good burgers, good beer, and quality service.

Sat outside in a booth but their indoor and outdoor seating at the bar looked like a nice spot. Food tasted great. I had the PH Club with the chicken breast mixed in BBQ sauce. Their flatbread pizza was delicious also.

Typical local pub. It wasn’t overly busy at the time of day we went. The staff and service were great. My husband ordered the burger and liked it. He ordered it medium well and said he would order it well done if we visited again. He ranked it a 6/10 as far as burgers go (above the average burger). I ordered the pretzel bites. They were a little tough and I wasn’t fond of their beer cheese dip.

La Jolla Cove burger. The taste is good but the BBQ sauce is a little bit too much for me.

Loved the outside porch seating. Plenty warm with heaters. Great beer selection (no cocktails). Calamari starter tasted very fresh and I loved the grilled mahi sandwich. Weekday specials are a nice bonus as burgers were half off on Tues nights. There is a kids menu with several good options.

My family enjoyed several items off of the happy hour menu as well as the daily special which happened to be 1/2 price sliders. The southern chicken sliders were delicious. The potato skins were tasty as well. The garlic parm fries didn’t come with any Parmesan. Our server was nice enough but could have been a bit more attentive. Overall, it was a decent meal for the happy hour prices.

Super cute place. We went at open, so getting seats wasn’t an issue at all. Place is known for its burgers and craft beers. I had sliders that were great and tater tots that were cooked to perfection. Staff was great and all smiles. Jennifer was a great waitress and host. Lots a screens for watching games and events.

Phenomenal food experience. Known for their burgers and beer, I had a burger but no beer. Diet Pepsi was on point though. If we ever back in the area I am stopping for sure.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, there was no wait. Service was great, food was really good. We ordered the steak tacos , the grilled chicken and bacon sandwhich with buffalo sauce on the side. We shared the sandwhich as it was pretty big. The atmosphere was casual and fun. It’s kid friendly. My son ordered the plain noodles but then asked for marinara on the side to mix with them.
