Disappointing. We drove in from St. Louis excited to celebrate our child’s birthday. The server made it clear she was not happy, actually commented back and forth because there is no happy hour, but we gave our efforts to make the best of it. Sadly- No water refills ever. No check on if we liked our food ever – it was basic. No ask if we wanted dessert (repeat 10 year old birthday). We ordered 2 margaritas. When it was time to leave we were taking food and chips. I asked for 2 cups from the bar because our waitress was rarely visible. I intended it for the salsa and cheese dip to go with our chips, to which the waitress came up and told me I couldn’t have because we had alcohol at our table. Fine, we get it. We then go to leave, with most of our margaritas still in their glasses on our table, and our kids carrying out their lemonade only. To our surprise, our server rushed to the front end manager to say we are taking our margarita. He came out of the restaurant to confront us in front of our 10, 9 and 3 year old. Really!!???? Look at our table and you will see we aren’t smuggling margarita out of this restaurant- the glasses are still over half full! Actually sad this is what we were excited for and experienced on my child’s birthday and our return to Oxford. Never ever will return.

Love this place!! I don’t live in Oxford so I’ve only eaten their once but it was unforgettable! So much so that I just threw my twins 1st birthday in Oxford and asked El Agave to cater. Octavian made everything so easy and was a pleasure to work with. The food was so soooo yummy! Everyone was talking about it all through out the party. I’m so grateful for Octavian and El Agave, they made the party! Highly recommend!!!

Fajitas for 2 is more like Fajitas for 4. Tons of meat. Their tortillas are too thick but otherwise was pretty good. A little pricey but you do get enough for 4 people. The queso dip is a bit spicy but ok and excellent service.

El Agave is really good if you get a table and sit in the restaurant. However, their take out is terrible! Not only did they get my order wrong, what they did give me was soggy, made terribly and was skimpy as hell. I’ve never had this bad of food and service here except for take out.

My family comes here all the time! They have taken me twice now! Typically they order the P-5 with steak which is rice, steak and queso.
My mom and I ordered the fajitas fundido which was steak, chicken, onions, peppers and mushroom fajitas! It’s a new favorite for sure! They added cheese on top, and some queso on the bottom!

What a fantastic meal! I always enjoy coming here for great food and friendly service! The chips and salsa to start with are awesome! And there is a great variety of dishes for the main course! Definitely recommend!
