Great place to eat in the charming town of Berlin! Went as a group of six and everyone enjoyed their meal. The soft pretzel and crabby fries were great appetizer choices. Our server, Peyton, was very friendly and did an excellent job! We’ll be back!

Very mixed bag. Atmosphere was relaxed. Food was quite good. Service left quite a bit to be desired but then again it’s only one person. Waited for EVERYTHING. She seemed to have something really important going on in the back the whole time. And it wasn’t just our table.
I ordered a burger, wife and oldest ordered smash burgers. All three patties were completely identical. No smash at all. Wasn’t asked what temperature I wanted. My youngest got chicken tenders and was thrilled. I tried them and they were awesome.

Fun, funky place, great porch, really friendly and helpful service. We arrived after lunch, fried green tomatoes with crab and wontons was great, hot dogs a bit disappointing (yes, I belong to a hot dog critics group!). Really fun, nice menu of craft beers.

My spinach salad was delicious and loaded with all of the toppings listed on the menu (goat cheese, cranberries, red onion). They definitely didn’t skimp there…and a LOT of places do! Our server was super friendly; prices were totally reasonable. I so recommend this restaurant.

Always a good experience at Sterling Tavern. A nice group of people tuned into both the local scene and tourism. It makes for a nicer atmosphere for those of us traveling through.
I always sit downstairs in the main area, but I understand the outside patio (in season) and the upstairs are very good as well.
Great menu selection. Full of munchies, hearty sandwiches or handhelds & salads. Plenty of seafood options throughout.
A couple of my favorites:
crab salad on fried green tomatoes
Cobb Salad w/ Bacon, hard egg, Avocado, etc and optional seafoods, grill chicken etc.
fresh single fried oysters!
Yummy!
Pair any of this with their nice selection of beers (I know they carry wine I just didn’t pay attention here. Some of the Ale varieties had me at hello!)

My wife and I were staying in Berlin, MD for the first time and went to The Sterling Tavern based on reviews. We were not disappointed. We hadn’t planned on ordering Wings but I’ve learned to listen when a server makes recommendations with conviction, and our server let us know their wings were award winning so we ordered some of course. I am a big wing fan, but have gotten turned off the past few years because it seems like all you get get anymore are little wings without a lot of meat. Well, these wings are without a doubt my top 3 in my life. So delicious & meaty! We got Thai Chili I believe was the flavor. They were so good we are hoping to pick some up on the way home and have them for the NFL playoff games on Sunday!

At Assateague Island came to Berlin for lunch. Very busy in Berlin due to the Fiddlers Convention but we were quickly seated at The Sterling Tavern. We got our drinks quickly and the menu had a nice variety. Great grilled cheese and the bratwurst and pretzel charcuterie board was a hit. Very nice lunch at The Sterling Tavern.

The outdoor area is charming if not for the flies. Those little whirly gig thingies don’t really keep the flies away. Good selection on the menu so that kids and others who like basic can find something but also some real interesting options like the crab stack.
Our server was very good and patient with us.
Two knocks. One, some servers were tossing drinks, lemons included, into the mulch next to the dining area. That cannot be helping the fly situation. The other thing was at first we thought the fries had some special seasoning on them but as we continued to eat them, pretty sure it was some bad/dirty oil they were frying them in.

An absolutely favorite for us- whether it’s celebrating birthdays, attending trivia or bingo, or simply just enjoying the food, we can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant! The owners are interactive, bartenders are always friendly (John P and John C, Nadia, and Jack plus the rest!) and remember our order, truly one of our favorite spots.
