What a surprise. Been to Galveston 40+times and just found this place. Food was very good (not a fan of the fries, very similar to Arby’s curly fries, just not curly) but the shrimp and burger were excellent and reasonably priced. Monday night just 2 days before Christmas, had the restaurant almost to ourselves. The service was excellent and fast. No complaints at all.

Overall very good!! Would definitely go back. Wide variety of food (too many options in my opinion made it hard to decide what I wanted), but something for everyone. Only criticism I have is that there was no seasoning on the okra or crab fingers.

Stopped in after Dickens on the Strand for a relaxing bowl of shrimp gumbo and iced tea. Ya’ll the shrimp in this gumbo are HUGE! Flavor is phenomenal! Hit the spot after a long day!

We’ve visited 3 times recently. The $4-6 tacos were big and good. The shrimp taco was best.
The special appetizer Mediterranean combo pictured was excellent twice. We got a beef kabob/chicken kabob and Koobideh with pita, rice, hummus, falafel and tzatziki. The red sauce is good flavored heat. In the background was the chicken kabob plate. It was a more generous kabob with grilled peppers and onion on rice.
Service is good, weird twist is after you’re seated, you go back to the counter to order and pay upfront, but there are often large groups so maybe this is a bonus for those folks.
Definitely recommend.

Visiting Galveston and we were checking out the Strand area. It was very hot and we were at one end and saw this place. Skeptical at first, but was very pleasantly surprised!
It was far enough off the beaten path that there were no tourists or cruise passengers. Seemed like a few locals. The menu was somewhat eclectic and a lot of seafood. But luckily also some great tasting Mexican food. We had the crab cake sandwich and potato soup (delicious!) and Mexican tostadas, which were super delicious and better than I’ve had at traditional Mexican restaurants. They also have happy hour and the margaritas and old fashioned were tasty. Everything was perfect! Thank you Coastal Grill and staff for making this an enjoyable meal experience for our trip.

Great place. Can’t recommend enough. Lots of locals came and all greated the owner who was very attentive. Restaurant was clean. Food was fresh and adult drinks were hand made and fresh as well. What a pleasant surprise. You can tell how much ownership and staff care.

Wow! The food was so good! They offer a variety of choices and everything we ordered was exceptional. I got three different tacos in jicama wraps which were both generous in portion and very flavorful. The staff was attentive and friendly. We got the bread pudding and seriously it’s the best bread pudding we’ve ever had. I highly recommend it.

This place was able to accommodate a very large party last minute, when most other restaurants had hour and a half waits. The food was fresh and delicious the prices were great, with such generous portions. Also, the staff is amazingly kind and the food was served extremely fast. The sides are definitely large enough to share!

We came in between events , kind of pressed for time, but we’re seated quickly. This place did not disappoint,family oriented,it had a large ,varied menu selection, with something for everyone, including vegetarian options. The food was yummy,nice portions, good presentation,quickly prepared and service was warm and courteous.
