My wife and I had an incredible dinner here last night with friends to celebrate our 13th anniversary. The food was incredible! Not a huge selection, but everything on the menu is delicious. I strongly recommend their angus filet, creamed corn, and three-cheese rolls!

The service was prompt and impressive the whole time. The environment was beautiful, and the scenes outside were even more unreal.

This is one of our favorite places that we’ve been for a nice dinner!

Our family went for the Sunday brunch buffet. We had a complimentary $20/person breakfast for two people and a $100 resort credit from the Sundance Resort that we had wanted to apply the fees toward.

My siblings and I – the three of us – got to go in and receive a delectable assortment of food in celebration of the holidays and wrap up for the new school year. We’re very grateful for the hospitality and the service that had been provided.

Sunday brunch buffet is only offered once a week. It reminds me of the food that is offered at nice club houses. There’s an area for yogurt, charcuterie, steak, salmon, pasta, salad, omelette, gingerbread pancakes, and a vast array of desserts. Drip coffee, soda, and water are covered within the $55/person fee.

We were seated in the area right behind the room dividers next to the front desk. The area is well decorated with Christmas decor. The sun streams in through the windows. A huge shout out to our server J was very quick and timely in checking in with us and making sure we were well settled.

Make sure you go in with an empty stomach and dressed to take good pictures all throughout your stay here. God bless you all.

We really enjoyed our meal here. I had steelhead trout in a tomato sauce with broccolini and potatoes. It was delicious! I finished off my meal with some excellent sticky toffee pudding. The ambience is cozy and quaint. Service was great too! This was a little side trek in our journey around Utah, and it was worth the drive!

I had dinner here with my daughter during our visit to the resort and our experience was phenomenal. The service was impeccable and very friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was rustic but very mountain cozy and charming. The good was incredible. Huge portions, beautifully presented and very tasty. We’ll be back for sure.

I’m so surprised The Foundry Grill doesn’t have a higher rating .. it is INCREDIBLE. We started with the mac and cheese, steak sandwich (can’t remember what it was called), apple cider cheesecake, and sticky toffee cake. All of it was SO YUMMY! DO NOT sleep on the sticky toffee cake – WOW. We were sad we should’ve replaced the cheesecake (still was good) with the toffee cake because it was literally – now my favorite dessert! Service amazing! Ambiance amazing! 1,000% will be back!

Beautiful spot in Sundance… unfortunately the hotel is under construction currently. Food was good, but the service was a true disappointment. We were a party of 12 – 10 of us got our dinners and 2 never came…of course we waited 10+ minutes before I had to go into the kitchen and ask about the remaining 2 dinners…worse yet no apologies and no money off the bill. Very disappointing.

Tried the loaded fries, smothered mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts as appetizers. All were great but I felt like the Brussel sprouts were particularly delicious. The burgers and steak sandwiches were also good.

A Memorable Meal in a Hidden Gem — Once You Find It

Our family recently dined at The Foundry Grill at Sundance Resort, and while the experience ultimately delivered a fantastic evening, getting there was a bit of an adventure.

The drive up through Provo Canyon into Sundance is absolutely beautiful — Utah showing off. However, finding the actual restaurant was surprisingly tricky. There’s major construction going on near the entrance, and signage directing guests to The Foundry is minimal (or missing altogether). We had to call the restaurant for directions, which was challenging with the limited phone service in the area. Fortunately, we got through, and a staff member helpfully guided us to walk behind the construction zone to find the entrance.

Once inside, the experience shifted completely. The Foundry itself is housed in a gorgeous rustic building that feels steeped in history, with modern alpine touches. There’s a boutique, deli, and sundries counter attached — a charming surprise that added to the atmosphere.

We were dining as a family — my wife, three of our kids, and myself — and we weren’t sure what to expect from the food. We ended up ordering a wide range of items, and not one disappointed. The standout? The signature Tomahawk steak — I’ll admit I had low expectations going in, but it was absolutely superb. Rich, perfectly cooked, and well-seasoned.

Our server, Ashlee, was a joy — warm, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about the entire menu. Her passion for the food added to the evening, and she struck the perfect balance between friendly and professional.

The vibe is casual mountain resort — relaxed, but refined. My youngest son Axel was in a T-shirt and shorts, and we didn’t feel out of place at all. Some guests wore jackets, but it was definitely a mix. No pressure, just good energy.

After dinner, the twinkling lights on the trees outside created a magical finish to the evening. We took photos together in front of them, and it capped off the experience beautifully.

Final Thoughts:

Despite the confusing arrival and lack of signage, The Foundry delivered an exceptional dining experience in a breathtaking setting. If they improve the guest wayfinding, this place could easily earn a solid five stars.

Tip for future guests: Call ahead for clear directions, and don’t be afraid to wear something casual — it’s the mountains, after all.
