One of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in Mexico. The experience here was absolutely phenomenal with attentive wait staff, incredible food and great atmosphere. The steak selection was impeccable, made even better with the salts offered (make sure you try the smoked black salt). We also had to try the desserts with the chocolate cake and carrot cake. If you love carrot cake, this will be the best one you’ve ever had.

I cannot speak highly enough about prime steakhouse restaurant and especially our server OMAR. Everyone that visits San Miguel must absolutely come to this restaurant. The food was to die for, the service was spectacular and the outdoor gardens are absolutely breathtaking. We had rib eye tacos, esquite, ceviche and the best cocktails in town. A waterfall greets you on the way to the bathroom and the yard out back is stunning. Not sure what I loved more: the food, the service or the aesthetic. 10/10

This is a very fancy restaurant that appears to be steering its customers to certain steaks based on what the restaurant’s preferences are for that evening.
This is totally fine if you just want a steak in an elevated setting – ie if you don’t really mind what you have and are happy to be guided by the restaurant’s availability. In our case, everything we wanted to try was not able to be made! An entree was out, and then the particular cut we were after required a lot of discussion. If you have your heart set on something, call ahead and make sure they reserve it for you.
The waiters (who were all exceptionally nice) bent over backwards to try accommodate us but unfortunately it didn’t work out. After about 1.5 hours they offered to make the dishes for us which we were told were not on the menu earlier.
We wish this venue luck but believe it could benefit from a more limited menu which focuses on delivering what it says and does so without compromises. I can’t imagine it’s easy to run a venue like this and I appreciate what they’re trying to do. I understand that there may be supply/demand issues in that location especially in the holiday period. We ended up leaving without trying any food.
All that being said, It’s a special place so we hope to be back and to give this place another chance!
I’m leaving 2 stars as an overall experience but the venue ambience and ambition is 5/5. Best of luck!

We went to Prime for our first time for our 20th anniversary. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Isai and Manuel took great care of us from appetizers to dessert. We started with the burrata and tomato appetizer, had fish and steak for dinner (with perfectly grilled asparagus as a side), and finished with a “26 ounce carrot cake”. Every item was GREAT. We will be coming back regularly for date nights and special occasions.

The vibe here is everything- it’s so cohesive and well thought out, the food, the dishes, everything is spectacular.
Oscar and Emmanuel provided us with great service, were attentive and informative. There is a beautiful courtyard and oscar mentioned that this is a pet friendly establishment- how amazing is that?! This is a perfect spot for an anniversary dinner or even a night cap at the bar. We honestly can’t wait to return.

Incredibly lovely restaurant and fabulous food. Our steak was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The staff reminded me of European waiters that make a career out of the hospitality business, instead of a side job to make extra cash. Everyone was proud of what they do. They were also very friendly but not overly familiar. My waiter was Jaime.
