Old Review: The service could be a lot better. I speak as a person who has worked in the food service industry before. I was a server for many years.
I’m a truck driver now and I’ve been on my break. I came in for lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday for breakfast.
What I have observed is that the servers haven’t had any training in customer service. They seemed to be rushed and panicked as if the restaurant is full when in reality there’s only 4 tables or so there.
The main thing I’m seeing is the lack of procedure from customers waiting to be seated, getting drink and food order, writing it down, and executing on the food to the tables. There’s no host for one thing.
I came in Saturday the waitress asked me if I was dining in, to which I replied yes. She then said I’ll be right with you and left for the kitchen. Mind you she had just taken an order (1person) at the table closest to the register. Why not seat your new customer first then head to the kitchen? The orders are put in at the terminal just outside of the kitchen. If she had written down the order from the previous customer, she could have sat me, got my drink order, and headed to the terminal put the order in for the first customer, and returned with my drink order.
Instead, and it’s not just one server, they seem to only be able to handle one customer and one task at a time. They’re not prepared for customers. They don’t check on the customers, provide extra napkins, refills, cut the check after checking on the customer to see how their food came out.
Instead they’re always in the kitchen/ servers galley.
Also, overheard several heated exchanges between the cook staff and I’m guessing a supervisor who remains hidden in the kitchen. I’m not sure but what I heard was a lead cook threatened to quit or walk out Saturday night. Meanwhile, an old couple sat for 30 minutes with no drinks and they were ready to order. An older server finally came over to get their order but it could’ve been avoided if the servers were out on the floor looking at new guest in their sections. If you seat a table get the drink order to help your coworkers out. The cook will call the servers name when the food is ready.
I got up after sitting forever waiting on the check, no refills, no customer service to see if the food was good was there anything missing, nothing.
The server thought I was a new guest wanting place a to go order at the register.
There’s a lack of attention to detail and there’s lack of process in place. The restaurant is never busy 5 tables at the most I’ve seen. It could be a lot better.
I felt so bad for the other customers I would’ve literally grabbed an apron and started getting at least drink orders.
This location has a lot of potential and should be busy which means great tips, but not if you don’t provide great customer service.
