On the side of the road, this food wagon has some of the best Malasadas I have ever had. They were all very very tasty. I would give yourself at least 30 minutes to order and have them made for you. It can be busy but definitely worth it!

I absolutely loved these doughnuts. They are made fresh while you wait, and come out so warm. They look large but they’re so light and fluffy, that even when filled, you’ll eat them very quickly. We had a mango, banana cream, and passion fruit and the lilikoi was our winner taste-wise, even if they were all fantastic. They’re not cheap but definitely worth it.

The Malasadas are spot on! Fluffy, warm, coated in sugar and the dough is the perfect sweetness. We opted for filled Malasadas and I love the tangy/sweet filling of the lilikoi/cheesecake and Guava/Cheesecake.
Appreciate the mix and match options with fillings and coating.
It’s a little food cart on the roadside, can’t miss it. Service is grab and go style. Meant to eat on the run. There isn’t really any place to hang out.
They make them as you order so, depending on the amount of people lined up, you could be waiting 10-30 minutes
For your order.

Legit. This is a proper donut. A must stop if you’re visiting the Big Island. We didn’t get any with filling…that seemed like a step too far. These were delicious and perfectly doughy. Cinnamon rolled were the best.

Pleasant surprise finding this food truck! My sister had heard things about this place on a food television station so we gave it a try. The lady running it let us sample the sugar before we ordered (very sweet of her). We ended up ordering three malasadas all with different sugar coatings and fillings and they were all delicious! Wish we could’ve tried every flavor. Prepared relatively quickly and well worth every penny!

Stumbled upon their pop up tent after a Christmas parade. This was without a doubt the best thing we ate the entire time we were on the island. I ordered the ube cheesecake with powdered sugar. Made fresh, it practically melted when you took a bite. We also tried their banana bread and I cannot get over how good it truly is. If you get the opportunity to check out this small business, do not hesitate.

Sweet, Simple, Unmissable
If you’re on the Big Island and craving something warm, sugary, and straight-up comforting, Manuela Malasadas is your move.
The malasadas are legit—crispy edges, fluffy centers, and fillings that actually taste like something.
Service is fast, friendly, and no-frills. You order, you wait a few minutes, and boom—hot malasadas in hand. Eat one before you drive off. Trust me.

The passion fruit filling is absolutely unreal — bright, tropical, and perfectly tangy without being overpowering. It has that fresh, sun-ripened flavor that makes you close your eyes for a second after the first bite.
The sweet and sour dusting on the outside takes it to another level. It’s light, slightly tart, and balances the sweetness beautifully instead of just adding sugar. Every bite is soft, pillowy, citrusy, and just the right amount of zing.
If you love that sweet-meets-tart island flavor profile, this one is a must. It tastes like Hawaii in a single bite.

I now have a new favorite fried, dough-based food, and it’s these malasadas.
This little roadside food stand is modest, but the malasadas are delicious! They come in a ton of different flavors, from plain with no filling, to dusted with cinnamon sugar, to filled with cremes including lilikoi cheesecake, chocolate, Bavarian creme, raspberry, and many more.
They are made-to-order and served hot and fresh. We visited three times on our vacation, and hope to visit again someday.
Don’t miss out on this place!
