Cozy, dimly lit cafe with outdoor tables serving up French bistro items.

Hubby and I had dinner here before the candlelit show at White eagle Hall around the corner. I was a bit skeptical given the mixed reviews but, I must say this place exceeded our expectations. The ambiance is very nice and romantic – kind of like a speakeasy with its chic decor, dim lighting, and live jazz band. Service was great – quick and friendly. Food was good. We ordered the bread service, grilled octopus, and truffle fries. Hubby ordered the short ribs gnocchi which he enjoyed. I didn’t care for it as it was a bit bland. As for drinks, I recommend the Jeanne de clisson. I didn’t like the Josephine baker which our server graciously removed from our bill. For dessert, I highly recommend the Profiteroles! Absolutely delicious! I definitely plan on returning next time I’m in the area!

Went here for my bday without reservation. Happy hours are only in the bar seats and they have events from time to time. Drinks and foods were delicious.

We’ve come here twice in the past and the food was pretty good but, now it’s all gone downhill.
The food was incredibly bland! The scallops were cooked well but, the rest of the dish was bland. $38 for four scallops and terrible accompaniments is a joke!
The Truffle ravioli was horrendous. Bland and goopy on the inside. Felt like it had been thawed and reheated. And to top it off, I learnt that it was store bought ravioli and not freshly made on site. Your whole excuse of it is to support local business? I call BS. Please don’t have the audacity to charge anyone $32 for crappy, bland, store bought ravioli. Shame on you!
The only positives were the staff and the Ham and Cheese Gougeres!
Another warning to future patrons, don’t fall for the Champagne Caviar gimmick (you’ll get a SHOT GLASS of Champagne and a small lick of store bought caviar put on your wrist)

Finally had the chance to try this restaurant after hearing so many great things, and it did not disappoint. Ashley was so friendly and attentive, and every dish we ordered was spot on. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend Madame in Jersey City! The romantic atmosphere and live music set the perfect mood. Samuel took great care of us at the bar with amazing cocktails. Huge thank you to Melanie and Chef Sadie for your awesome hospitality—you truly took our experience to the next level. We enjoyed oysters, mussels, the crab cocktail, and the octopus. All very fresh and delicious! We will definitely be back!

Our first visit to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
We loved the ambiance, not loud, cozy, comfortable seats.
The food was all fresh and well made. Not super sophisticated, but thought through. It was a first day of the new menu.
We loved the grilled octopus, shrimp cocktail (only 4 shrimps, but huge), scallops with risotto.
Deserts are interesting too, like that crispy peach compote pastry.
Would return and recommend to friends.

My Fiance and I had the absolute best experience for Valentine’s Day. The staff was so welcoming, the service was super efficient despite how busy they were, and the menu selection was top tier. Their plates are on the smaller side so you should definitely share plates because they have some of the best appetizers we’ve ever had! The octopus was cooked to perfection and we really enjoyed the escargot. The drinks were tasty and boozy. We can’t wait to come back!!!

This place is still AMAZING. Has a Manhattan feel. Food is really rich and gorgeous. Loved the burrata, the lobster arrancini was decadent, the scallops were perfectly cooked in an earthy sauce and the burger was really a treat. The soft shell crab special was stellar. The truffle ravioli was well balanced with a bit of sweetness. We had the profiteroles with ganchache and I wanted to lick my plate. The service was outstanding, Karen is an awesome server. We were checked in on often, our table was cleaned after our entree and the lady of the house greeted us. Amazing personal touches, will be back!

My husband and I spent our anniversary here and we had a lovely time. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic with a big beautiful bar, velvet booths, and neon lights. Or server Chelsea was excellent at providing us with food and drink recommendations and also took some great pictures of us at the end of the night. Would highly recommend the short rib gnocchi and the profiteroles for dessert. They were even sweet enough to write “Happy Anniversary“ in chocolate sauce on our plate. Can’t wait to come back for happy hour.
