Today I ordered chicken biryani at this restaurant, but the plate only contained a small piece of chicken with bones. Also, they had cooked the chicken separately from the rice, marinating it separately and then adding it to the rice. The chicken was cooked in a curry sauce, which had a very strong flavor. I’ve eaten biryani many times in different places before, and the ratio of rice to meat was usually 50/50, but here there was only a small piece of chicken. I told the manager why I was dissatisfied, and they said that this is how they serve biryani at their restaurant. I tried to explain that I wasn’t happy with it. They apologized and brought me an extra piece of chicken, but overall I was not satisfied. Also, the rice didn’t taste like biryani rice. It tasted like plain rice, without any spices or aroma.

Paying $16 for a plate of rice with a small piece of chicken on the bone is ridiculous.

The food was full of authentic Peshawari flavor — the kebabs were juicy, tender, and perfectly spiced. You can really taste the care and tradition in every bite. The naan was soft and fresh, and the chutney complemented everything perfectly.

A special shout-out to Hazrat Bilal for his outstanding hospitality and warm service. He truly made the visit memorable with his kindness and attention to detail.

If you’re looking for real Peshawari-style kababs and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

If you’re craving authentic, flavorful Pakistani cuisine, Peshawari Kabob in Union City is a hidden gem that delivers an exceptional culinary experience. Known for its robust flavors and traditional cooking, the restaurant serves up some truly unforgettable dishes.

During our visit, we ordered a range of dishes that showcased the depth of their menu.

Qeema Karahi
The Qeema Karahi was a standout. A rich, spicy meat stew made with minced lamb, this dish was cooked in a wok-like karahi (a traditional round-bottomed pan), which allowed the spices to infuse the meat deeply. The minced meat was tender, absorbing the tangy, spicy tomato-based gravy beautifully. The mix of cumin, coriander, and garam masala created a deliciously aromatic experience, perfect when paired with naan or Romali Roti.

Chapli Kabob
The Chapli Kabob was another highlight. These round, crispy patties were packed with flavor—spiced with crushed coriander, cumin, green chilies, and a hint of garlic, they had a slight crunch on the outside while staying juicy on the inside. The meat was perfectly seasoned, and the addition of fresh herbs gave the kabobs a refreshing note. Served with onions and a side of chutney, they were a delightful treat.

Nihari
The Nihari was a comforting, slow-cooked beef stew with a deep, rich gravy. The beef was incredibly tender, falling apart with the touch of a fork. The gravy had a velvety texture, infused with a variety of spices like ginger, garlic, and garam masala, creating a warming, aromatic sauce. The dish was flavorful yet not overwhelming, making it an ideal pairing with both rice or Romali Roti.

Maash Daal
The Maash Daal (black lentils) was another great addition to our spread. It was hearty and earthy, simmered in a rich, buttery gravy with subtle spices that didn’t overshadow the natural flavors of the lentils. The dal had a smooth consistency and was the perfect balance to the more intensely spiced meats we ordered.

Chicken Biryani
The Chicken Biryani was aromatic and flavorful, with perfectly cooked basmati rice infused with fragrant spices. The chicken pieces were tender and well-seasoned, absorbing the layers of spices. The dish wasn’t overly greasy, and the rice was light yet full of flavor. A touch of yogurt and fresh cilantro garnished the top, enhancing the dish’s refreshing and balanced taste.

Romali Roti
We rounded out our meal with Romali Roti, a soft, thin flatbread that was perfect for scooping up the flavorful curries and meats. It was delightfully light, with a slight chewiness, and was a great accompaniment to all the dishes. Its delicate texture paired well with the hearty, saucy dishes we enjoyed.

Doodh Paathi
To finish off our meal, we tried the Doodh Paathi, and it was the ideal conclusion to an already incredible spread. It’s smooth and comforting, with just the right amount of sweetness, making it an indulgent treat after the savory dishes. The Doodh Paathi was refreshing and soothing, a perfect contrast to the bold spices we’d just enjoyed.

Overall Experience
Service at Peshawari Kabob was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is casual, with an authentic, no-frills atmosphere, allowing the food to truly shine. Each dish was well-prepared, generously portioned, and full of flavor, reflecting the skill and attention to detail in their cooking.

Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, offering great value for money. If you’re in the area and in the mood for delicious Pakistani food, Peshawari Kabob is definitely a must-try. The range of dishes we ordered provided a satisfying and authentic dining experience that I would highly recommend.

Peshawari Kababs: A Flavorful Feast with a Pricey Tag

Peshawari Kababs in Fremont offers a taste of authentic Afghani & Pakistani cuisine, though the experience is somewhat marred by a rather ordinary ambiance.

We opted for the Paya (beef trotters) with garlic bread and cup of milky chai. The Paya, the star of the show, was absolutely divine. The broth was rich and flavorful, brimming with spices that danced on the palate. The meat itself fell off the bone effortlessly, tender and succulent. The garlic bread, while good, was a bit on the greasy side.

However, the true highlight was the Paya. It was a symphony of flavors, a true testament to the skill of the chef.

The ambiance, while functional, lacked the warmth and charm one might expect from a fine dining establishment. The decor felt a bit dated and could use a refresh.

While the food was exceptional, the prices at Peshawari Kababs are on the higher side. Be prepared to pay a premium for this culinary experience.

Overall:

Despite the slightly elevated prices and unassuming ambiance, Peshawari Kababs is a worthwhile destination for those seeking an authentic taste of Afghani & Pakistani cuisine. The Paya, in particular, is a must-try.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Recommendation: Go for the Paya, but be prepared for a slightly higher price point.

Excellent food and service. This place is a hidden gem.

Very hospitable staff, owner and home cooked style food.

The food is very high quality – highly recommend the charsi tikka, chicken karahi, daal, Romali roti and naan.

Make sure you try the kawa (chai) at the end.

If you want the best food, you should call in your order about 45 minutes to 1 hour before you reach, then you’ll get the food slow cooked, fresh and best quality

Always have great experience here. Went there for Iftar and order about 40 mins before arriving and told them that it is for Iftar.
They provide Free Iftar items for everyone. Self serve though.
And as soon as the time for Iftar came, they served the food right away.
Only down point was that I could taste Tomato Paste in karhai instead of Fresh Tomatoes. Next time, i guess I will tell them to use Fresh Tomatoes for more enriching taste.
And if you need seating in traditional set up, make sure to call them and book the space as it is a reserved seating.
Service is always great and people are nice too. Owner, Mr. Dawood is very courteous person and always welcome us with respect.
Definitely, one of the nice place for us friends to visit.

I invited my friends for dinner and we went to this place. They did not let us sit in the dining area because my friends brought their 1 year old. Although, there were already 2 kids sitting in dining area before us. We are Pakistanis and they were afghans. Why unnecessary racism?? I would never visit them again as it was such an insult for me. I felt discriminated against. Shame on these guys. Have same rules for everyone. I recommend to everyone don’t go over there because of racism. and management behavior is so rude.
