Great relaxed vibe with just average baked goods.
The atmosphere at Blue Scorcher was fun , with a definitely retro-hippie feeling to the venue. Free papers, community notices, and even a little library all add to this relaxed and friendly vibe.
Service was friendly and efficient. Nice to experience, especially early in the morning .
The baked goods that I tried were bland and somewhat tasteless. Filling in the almond croissant was absent, and the apple turnover was under-filled. Croissants should be buttery, and this almond croissant was less so! , Disappointed from a baked goods aspect for sure.
Cappuccino was just ok, and the tea was good.
Final take…..I might try again and order an omelet or a breakfast burrito just for the great relaxed atmosphere at the Blue Scorcher.

Great breakfast / lunch spot with delightful takeaway baked goods! Been this place a few times and every time it’s been perfect. Staff are SUPER chirpy and lovely to be around, food is great, and the atmosphere is good. The breakfast burrito is excellent! Good selection of refill coffee on off. Highly recommend!

Coming from Tigard, we loved this place and would come back here. Delicious food and coffee and didn’t leave us feeling too full. Love the vibes and the sustainability.

This was a perfect breakfast stop on a beach road trip we just took. All the bread and pastries were fresh and flavorful and they even had vegan mozzarella for my breakfast scramble which was served on local fresh greens. We also loved the little free library and cloth napkin option. The food came very quickly and we enjoyed it at a tiny table outside, in the sun.

Enjoyed my first stop in – breakfast of eggs and toast and a chai. Found street parking easily – mid-week in September. Kind staff and patrons. Happy it is a co-op. Good selection of fresh baked goods. Definitely would stop in again.

The quality of the ingredients are top notch. The coffee is just as good. The breads are always fresh and delicious. The people behind the counter are friendly, welcoming and pleasant to interact with as well. The atmosphere is cozy but also busy in a good way (on a Sunday).

Savory croissant was tasty. Jalapeno Cheddar bagel with cream cheese, capers, and onion was surprisingly delicious! (Shown here already half devoured, I wasn’t planning on writing a review)
Friendly staff.

Yummy brunch spot! Really good for vegan or vegetarian options. Good sandwich but nothing special. Yummy cold brew, add your creamer and such yourself on the side for coffees. I think I would try another sandwich next time as it wasn’t my favorite.

Can get busy, had to wait a bit but was prepared for it! Was super warm sitting inside being so busy but I know that’s hard to avoid on a hot day with no AC.

The best sourdough bread ever hands down.

We had a breakfast burrito and an egg scramble. Both were incredible. Farm fresh eggs, home made tortilla, local sourced vegetables. You can’t beat this.

Let’s talk about the bread.

The scramble came with 2 pieces of sourdough bread that was grilled with butter on a flat top. Oh man… Was that delicious. They make their own jam in house and boy howdy was it super delicious on that bread. It was so good that I bought a whole loaf! The loaf was only $8 what a steal!

And for the history buffs:
The location of this spot was in the old auto industry block of Astoria. The building was super old! They kept a lot of the original building intact keeping the wood beams open and the walls original. The main table in the front was the old building station. It had all the old plug ins which was super cool!

We will definitely be returning here again! 🙂

First time visiting Astoria with daughter-in-law and two grandkids… Cappuccino- perfect! Baked breads- Amazing!!! Cookies, cinnamon rolls and Fairy cup cakes – scrumptious and perfect accompaniment to coffee!
Everyone “fits” here from locals to college age & young entrepreneurs working the net to retired folk enjoying the day.
If there is a classic Astoria coffee shop it would be here- Wonderful!
