What a great place!! Smells amazing and was so fun to try their “Big Momma” platter. Pretty amazing selection and taste. Tons of leftovers unless large group of people. Only thing I didn’t love was the turkey. Little cornbread was also so good!! Will definitely be back with a big group!

This place is absolutely fantastic! This is a must stop anytime we are near Bemidji. The service is always great, the bbq is my favorite in the state, and lots of different fun drinks. I always get the brisket burrito, scared to try anything else because I love it so much!

This was my first visit. The atmosphere was lively and obviously a popular place. My order included brisket, ribs and a brisket taco. The taco and brisket were excellent. The ribs were average. We sat at the bar and I was able to get a good look at how the service was working throughout the restaurant. It wasn’t well organized. People sitting at tables would end coming to the bar for beverages. There was confusion on who had which table. Our “bartender,” (I put that in quotes only because we sat at the bar) also was serving tables which didn’t make sense because there were 6 servers “working.” Those servers spent good time standing in the corner behind the bar. This explains why people had to come up to get drinks. Lastly, when we asked for our tab our server/bartender disappeared for about 10 minutes while we waited for the tab. I’m sure Fozzie’s will continue to be busy with their food and atmosphere, but they could use a quality, we’ll organized service manager to put in service systems. This would be a win for the customer and an even bigger win for the service staff.

Fozzie’s Smokin Bar BQ in downtown Bemidji is one of our favorite date-night spots. My wife always orders the Brisket Philly and I go for the Brisket Burrito with mac and cheese—both are incredible. It’s about $20 per person before drinks. Their dipping sauce is a must-try and they’ve got a good selection of tap beers and drinks to go with it.
The vibe is relaxed with a cozy, slightly dive-bar feel. It has darker lighting, local art on the walls, and nothing you need to dress up for. Service is handled by friendly college-age staff; it’s casual but gets the job done.
If you’re in Bemidji and love smoky BBQ, these brisket dishes are worth the trip!

Foozies in Bemidji is an awesome spot with a fun atmosphere and great energy. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care, and the menu had plenty of options to choose from. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Service was quick, the place was clean, and everything tasted fantastic. Whether you’re stopping in with friends or grabbing a bite on the go, Foozies is a place I’d absolutely recommend and will gladly return to again.

My goodness, if you are from out of town and searching for that diamond in the rough, this is it! Smoked deliciousness! The monster fries are so good and plenty to share! We got a full rack of ribs and every bite was tender and flavorful! Service was great, and music just loud enough to hear and enjoy. Perfect Playlist of classic rock.

This place was awesome! We came down for the weekend and stopped in which my husband ordered the trio with coleslaw and I ordered the sundae. Mine came with pulled pork, beans, slaw and topped with a rib! He had brisket, ribs and a pulled pork taco which was smoked to his satisfaction. He is picky and his critique of this place was it was a real smokehouse. Just the walls were black but atmosphere otherwise was casual.

*2026 Update* I wish this place was more consistent. This time we tried the brisket sandwich and the monster fries. They were both fantastic. The brisket sandwich had a ton of meat and it was super juicy. The last couple of visits, there was very little meat. The monster fries had a lot of pork and a good amount of fries. Their sauce is always good. Keep this up and we’ll be back a lot more!!
*2025 Update* Tried the brisket burrito and it was better than the pulled pork. The sausage in it wasn’t bad, but had a funny taste. Not sure what spices are in it. My wife had the crinkle cut fries and they were the best part. Overall it was a better experience and worth a try if you’re in the area.
Great atmosphere, great location, huge portions. Unfortunately the rest falls short. Even though the pulled pork sandwich was overflowing with meat, the texture and flavor was off. Big chunks of jiggly fat and the meat tasted like chemicals, like an artificial smoke flavor. Some parts of the meat were tender, others were very tough. The Mac and Cheese tasted like just a block of Velveeta melted over noodles. While not terrible, it was just overkill on the fake cheese, very heavy. Service was ok, he kind of forgot about us until we were basically done. I can’t speak for anything else on the menu, so proceed with caution.
