Melanee was amazing! She greeted us at the door with a beautiful smile and checked in on us multiple times. Food was amazing! Authentic. Fresh crushed raw garlic. The sausage and meatballs were delicious. Puttanesca was fresh and flavorful.

We were a little disappointed.
I will start with the good. The location is great and the decor felt like what we expected. Ira, the entertainment, was a little loud but the music was nice.
I wasn’t a fan of the bolognese but will not count that against them as it is their recipe.
What lowered their score… Both of our entrees were served cool/cold. The gnocchi was mushy and gluey, not light and pillowy as it should be. And the restraunt was very loud.
The cold and mushy food could have easily been handled had the server followed the two bite check back rule… Check in with your guests after two bites to make sure everything was okay. We only saw our server before the meal was delivered the next time we saw her it was at the end when she noticed that my partner didn’t eat her dish and asked if she wanted a box. I will place responsibility for this on poor training.
On top of this the menu overall is a bit pricey.
I do hope that this is used to help management step up the training.

Nonna’s: A True Taste of Authentic Italy Downtown!
Nonna’s is a downtown Springfield gem offering authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy, old-world setting. Everything was delicious, from the crisp salads to the main course. I had the owner’s favorite, the Spaghetti Amatriciana—thick noodles with a traditional Roman sauce of cured pork cheek, Pecorino Romano, and a hint of red pepper.

Our waiter, Alex, provided superb service; he was exceptionally personable and his expertise was refreshing. His suggestion to add one of their incredible meatballs was a perfect complement! The overall vibe is vibrant yet calm. Don’t let the challenging parking deter you; it’s well worth a couple of blocks walk. With great food and service at fair prices, Nonna’s is a must-visit!

I love this place! Alex was our server and he was so talented, he knew what we needed before we even asked! He was personable and Intuitive.

The food was lovely and the lighting was perfect. My friend and I talked for like 2.5 hours and Alex told us we could stay as long as we liked!

Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be back!!

The service staff of young hipsters seemed to care enough about their jobs to be apologetic when they performed poorly. But once our food was ordered, it came out quickly. We got the seafood risotto — recommended by the server — and some pesto pasta mess wjth meatballs. Both were bland. The risotto stood out for also being watery. We abandoned the pesto for the meatballs, which were dry but tasted like there was seasoning. To fix the seafood dish, you’ll need to first order the bruschetta, which comes only with the ingredients that you’ll need to assemble yourself. Take a fair bit of the generous portions of chopped garlic, the Parmesan, the diced tomatoes and stir them into the risotto. Then add a lot of salt and pepper. We removed the cap from the pepper shaker in order to more quickly get the amount needed. That’s how much.

The atmosphere, though, was perfectly seasoned with black-and-white family photos and a pressed tin ceiling. The aforementioned hipster servers added their own pepper.

Quaint little date night spot downtown. I really enjoyed my chicken Alfredo . It was odd that the chicken parmigiana my son ordered and the chicken Marsala ordered also came with the same Alfredo noodles and sauce .
The bread served with fresh garlic and oil was a nice touch although I didn’t enjoy the bread.
The waiter was attentive and wonderful. The restaurant had a nice vibe. And the tiramisu was a-ma-zing .

On an early Friday evening, I got to try this location for the first time. The meatballs (on the Americanized menu) were the best I’ve ever eaten- from anywhere, ever!! The location was cute and decorated like Grandma’s house might have been, with a lot of old portraits. The gentle guitar music was a nice touch, but it leads me to the one big downside of this restaurant: the noise levels and echoes. There were a couple large parties in there and it was BAD. It was so offensive that I don’t understand why they don’t have acoustic tiles to aid in thwarting it. My old city had dozens of buildings of similar designs and age that served as restaurants, and all seemed to have the discreet, similar to the wall-coloring canvas blocks that apparently work wonders. Maybe it was the booth/table we were at, but we couldn’t even hear the waitress.
I am not sure how long this location has been opened, but I really wouldn’t have hesitated to give it 5 stars if I could have heard her or my husband, seated directly across from me.

We have been excited to try the new menu additions and were delighted with fresh flavors and rich sauces! The restaurant was full, but it was only a 10 minute wait before we were seated.
The whole experience was great and the service was excellent! My oldest daughter said that it’s her favorite restaurant:) I love that Nonna’s is still here after all these years.
Everything was delicious, as usual!
