As a loyal fan of Atlas Oyster House, The Fish House, and Angelena’s, I had high expectations for this addition to the restaurant group’s portfolio. Unfortunately, our visit during Great Southern Restaurant Week was a major disappointment. Despite our excitement, the meal was “fair to middling” at best and did not live up to the group’s reputation or its fine-dining price point.
From the prix-fixe menu, the Loaded Potato Soup was flavorful but suffered from unevenly cooked, oversized potato chunks. The Beef Tournedos were a significant letdown; ordered medium-rare, they arrived blue and unrested, leaving the plate a mess of myoglobin. To finish, the Espresso Tartlet was so underwhelming I stopped eating after two bites. My husband’s BBQ Pork Croquettes were also a miss, featuring a dense, tough exterior and a mushy interior.
While the cocktails were fantastic and the service was excellent, the kitchen simply didn’t deliver. We won’t be returning to pay steakhouse prices for such inconsistent quality.

We visited Jackson’s to celebrate a special birthday. The service was excellent; the waiter was very attentive and made detailed recommendations from start to finish. The tomahawk steak was on the menu that night and tasted good. We had a bit of a snafu where I received the wrong order. The manager and waiter reconciled the issue with such class; we highly appreciated their hospitality. The food was great and we’ll definitely be back in the future.

Heard about this restaurant from friends and decided to try it out with my wife. Made online reservations which was easy to do. Hostess was warm and welcoming. Service was great. We ordered prime ribs which was tender and delicious. The settings on the table was nicely placed which felt like a real fine dining restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner and will definitely return. Will also recommend to our friends and family.

I visited Jackson’s Steakhouse in Pensacola with high expectations, and in many ways, they delivered. The restaurant itself is a history lover’s dream, occupying an 1860s-era building overlooking Plaza Ferdinand. Standing there, you can feel the weight of the past; it’s the exact spot where General Andrew Jackson accepted the transfer of Florida from Spain to the U.S. in 1821. It’s a fascinating bit of local lore that Jackson’s actual home was just a block north before he went on to become Florida’s governor and, eventually, the seventh U.S. President.

From the moment I walked through the door, the service was truly world-class—seamless, attentive, and upscale in a way that sets an incredibly high bar for the evening. This level of hospitality was present in every interaction, especially when my waiter Scotty confidently recommended the Caesar Salad as the best in town. He wasn’t exaggerating. You could taste the “in-house/made from scratch” quality in every bite, particularly the croutons, which were hands-down the best I’ve had—light, crispy, and perfect.

When I noticed there was no baked potato on the menu, the waiter’s expertise shone again as he guided me through his recommendations. Based on his advice, I ordered the asparagus and the potatoes au gratin. The asparagus was fresh, quality, and perfectly cooked. However, the potatoes were a bit of a mixed bag; while good, they felt surprisingly bland for a dish that is usually so rich and indulgent. They lacked the “wow-factor” I was looking for in a popular, premier side dish.

Unfortunately, the momentum stalled significantly when the main course arrived. I ordered the Prime NY Strip medium, but it arrived noticeably undercooked (MR at most). It lacked the signature crust and texture that I consider essential to a premium steakhouse experience. While the quality of the meat was undeniable, I didn’t feel the house sauce was an adequate cover for a proper sear. For an establishment of this caliber, the steak’s execution simply fell short of the excellence displayed by the staff.

Overall, Jackson’s is a beautiful establishment with a legendary atmosphere and outstanding service. It was a very good experience, even if the steak itself didn’t live up to my standards this time around.

Good! Bad and just ok. The good. The mushrooms were phenomenal. The Bad… out of 6 of us two of our steaks were overcooked and very bland although the FGT and crab meat were a nice addition. The ugly. The server was pulled aside and was told how our steaks were very well done even though we ordered them medium and medium rare. He didn’t seem to care at all. Overall I don’t think I’ll go back. My expectations did not live up to the hype

Are you looking for old timey elegance and charm, that is accompanied by classic flavors that will never grow old? Boom shakalaka, the answer is Jackson’s Steakhouse.

The Tuesday Prime Rib deal for twentiesh dollars, is a value play but also a flavor bomb featuring perfectly cooked beef. The baked tater is old school 80s but sometimes a tater just hits the spot, my personal recommendation is dump all that beautiful meat grease in there.

The simple parts of elegance are executed so perfectly that everyone from foreign dignitaries to boujee trailer dwellers will be shocked and awed. Yes, I am indeed talking about the bread and butter.

Hundy percent transparency, the cocktails are a little overpriced and middle of the road for downtown Pensacola.

The staff is amazing and the ambiance feels like your dad or grandpa picked out the place, but in all the best of ways.

I wish I could give this restaurant a better review. My family came and we had a party of 20 people and the service was amazing. Mic served my table and was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the food. He was attentive and very personal. I would give him a 20/10. Excellent Service!!!

We were very pleased to find high quality food here as we have moved from Maine. My husband and I shared the crab cake beignets appetizer and they were very good. The lobster tail appetizer was rubbery and definitely over cooked. We were not surprised as lobster is a Maine thing and not a Southern thing. I had the duck and it was the best or equal to the best I have ever had. My husband had a steak dish and he said it was very good but nit as good as my duck. For desert I had a chocolate mouse, it was very good and had a nice texture and flavor. My husband had the blueberry cheesecake cobbler desert and it was very good. All in all this place was a pleasant surprise and we are very glad to have a new date night spot.

Made reservations, for Christmas Eve for a friend‘s birthday from start to finish was horrible. We were greeted politely. That’s the only thing once seated to the table had to wait a while. We both ordered items from the menu. The place is overrated we ask for medium rare steak and receive overdone steak horribly made.had it made again It was worse. They didn’t acknowledge that it was her birthday, even though it was down when I made the reservation. No one didn’t even say happy birthday or anything Not worth the price or the time to go the food is not what it’s hyped up to be. Don’t waste your time.then to top it off never was greeted by manager to apologize for the mistake nor was we accommodated very disappointed being its Christmas Eve all other restaurants are close to eat we had to go home and make something

My chicken medallions were deep fried, not what I ordered as chicken medallions. Sauce was odd. Husband ordered his steak as well done-dietary restriction-came out medium. It was sent back and remade. A good steak shouldn’t require a gravy on top!
Doubt we will return. Creme brulee as dessert was perfect!
