Great place for breakfast! Spiced chickpea salad and pitta with hummus and salsa are a must try. Baklava is 80% close to Hafiz Mutafa’s (incredibly famous sweet shop in Turkey) baklava. Every dish here is vegan and if it’s mentioned egg or meat then it’s a vegan alternative. Go early because the place get crowded during weekend’s mornings.

Love love love this cute restaurant!! My boyfriend and I are both vegan, we go out of our way to stop at the Baklava Lady any chance we get! Their Turkish coffee and lattes are always amazing. Even though the pastries and breads are the best part, they also have gluten free options.

I grabbed a quick lunch to go while in the area, and definitely need to plan a trip back for breakfast! Lentil soup with hot pepper, dill & lemon. With a massive slice of delicious bread baked with thyme, sesame seed and olive oil. And got an orange blossom cake / muffin, semolina flour and olive oils with flowery scent. Super nice service and casual cafe atmosphere

I love this place so much, and wish they were open everyday. The BEST lattes, and food. My fav is the “tuna” sandwich, massive portions. You will not be leaving hungry, but still somehow I manage to buy things to go too. Def recommend

If you’ve been avoiding this because of the word “vegan” – get over it. Come in, sit down, and eat. It’s delicious. There’s no purity test, you’re still allowed to have pork roll, egg and cheese tomorrow. But it’s time to expand your palate.

The restaurant was a delight to eat at with my dear friend. We arrived at 10 am on Friday, they are only open for weekend hours, and quickly the place filled up. The service was excellent, and everyone was friendly and helpful. The owner was the best by interacting with her customers.
The menu is vegan, and if you have food sensitivities, they will work with you.

It is one of the best vegan restaurants in NY/NJ! A Family-owned, ethical establishment with dignity, serving a variety of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, all made with love.
Though it is almost a two-hour drive away, I look for the next opportunity to go back. So my only complaint is the distance, and I urge the baklava lady to open another shop in NYC!
Highly recommended!

Let me start with how vocal this cafe is about Palestine! I personally am I big supporter & respect businesses that stand with justice and spread awareness in a time of global injustice. This Turkish cafe has delicious dessert options & cold drinks. I ordered the Baklava Latte which was so refreshing, not to mention their cold brew is well brewed and super tasty.

Baklava Lady has hands down some of the best food around. You can never go wrong with a baklava latte and pistachio baklava! Their specials are always amazing and the kofte wrap is a great staple too. The owner and staff are so kind and the atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming. I moved to upstate NY but always make sure to stop by when I’m in town – I’ll never skip it!
