The food is good. However, the attention to basic details is being missed in a big way. Customers have to say their order twice or more and then get up to the window only to find the order is still wrong.
Employees could benefit from some training on active listening. It would improve the customer experience and likely save them time by avoiding repeat work.
Honestly, a basic order, especially when the restaurant isn’t busy, should not be this difficult.
I will be back, but I hope some changes are made.

I asked for a salad and got a bowl…. This is no where near the order I placed…. Called the restaurant to see what they can do and no one answered. Wasted $13 for a meal I didn’t ask for. On top of that the coupon in the app didn’t even work. Beyond disappointing.

We love getting the family meal. It’s a great value and a delicious and healthy alternative to fried chicken. Also gotta get the queso blanco! The service at the Hurst location is always fast and friendly. We will be going back to try the new quesadillas!

If I could leave a -10, I would I used to love El Pollo Loco now I know why they close some of their stores in Texas. Hurst has the worst possible service and food quality probably out of all El Pollo Loco. My chicken was so dry it broke my tooth. I ordered a Chicken bowl, rice beans, and chicken Repeated it three times and I get home and there’s only dry rice and chicken No beans my two piece meal. I’ve had bad there before but this chicken was so dry and the rice was so dry I could not even eat it if I was management or QC at this restaurant , I would have district there in a heartbeat. I ordered the food told them it would be to go twice at the end. Of order Employee asks Is this gonna be to go or dine in?lol That was the first mistake the second mistake was me. I should’ve checked the order, but I didn’t think it would be so difficult considering it was a bowl Chicken rice and beans that was it then let’s go to my meal. I’ve had bad days at that particular location but I always go back because it’s closest to my home but that chicken was so dry. I could not even eat it. My flour tortillas were half dried. Also, I usually don’t do reviews but I had to this time First and foremost they had a ton of chicken that was on the grill and more chicken cooking but the ones that was cooked was so dried out It looks like they had been in the Texas heat so long that it had a sunburn! CHICKEN was burnt El Pollo Loco for the price they have to step up their game on top of it They gotta start being more correct on their orders. Every single time I go into the store I can repeat the order twice and have them read it back and they will still make a mistake. It’s unreal to me, but this time was probably the worst experience I’ve had I used to go there three times a week. I probably won’t go there after today , you’re gonna charge me that kind of money and give me that quality of service and taste of food I don’t want any part First and foremost as a manager I would not even put what I got today in anyone’s box not even counting the salsa, I got four salsa and two of them had a chunk of tomato in there that took up the whole little cup And I needed all the juice I could get because that’s how dry that chicken was I think i got most mad when I got home and found out that I got dry rice and overcooked chicken for the chicken bowl. I was so excited when you all came to Texas and I seen the stores were closed down because you didn’t train your management good enough or bring them from California or wherever you got to bring them to handle tx stores I Personally don’t know where they got a 4.1 because never Ever have I had this dried out big mistakes Unenjoyable meals. The bowl will not be eaten due to the mistake no beans when you’re charging me the kind of money you charge I expect to be able to eat it and then to make Simple mistake on the second order on such a simple order that I gave them. and to have them repeat Repeat back to me is amazing I can’t even believe either , yes I’m writing a book The QC has got to do better and pictures are worth 1000 words. Even the chicken bowl could not be eat from the burnt dried chicken breast with no beans by the way.

My first visit here was fantastic. While it’s a simple fast food style set up, the food quality was far from traditional fast food. My bowl was absolutely solid. I will for sure be going back!

Terrible service. Spilled sauce. The chicken quesadilla was super dry and obvious they used old meat. Go to another location.

First time here, and it was very disappointing. Although young man at counter was very polite the food was not so good. I had chicken tostada let’s just say I should just went to Taco Casa next door. Had to pick out chicken was just too hard and the rice was very old and hard pieces tried mixing but I just had to throw away. Food is just not good.

Walked in, waited, was not greeted.. for SEVERAL minutes. even others who were there before us walked out.
The restaurant was not busy.. two cars in the drive-thru and it seemed like everyone in the kitchen cared more about joking around than actually working.
