Besides the delicious pork BBQ, the collard greens are the best I have ever eaten. This visit I tried the barbecue ribs along with the chopped pork. The meat on the ribs was perfect and tender and the bones came out clean. They have a new sauce on the table called competition sauce. It is very complex and flavor and is absolutely delicious on those ribs. I can go on and on about the smoke and the flavors and the good service. What you need to do is find this place as soon as possible. I even got a quart of collard greens to go.

Greens were great. Hush puppies very good. Smoked wings very nice. Brisket meh, pulled pork pretty bad and awfully dry, green beans had good flavor, but so mushy, fries not great. BBQ sauce options not good. Left the pulled pork behind on plate along with a slice of brisket, and most the fries. I did eat all the mushy green beans though.

My husband and I drive up from Greensboro and we love love love this place! The bbq is amazing, wings are INSANELY good. The seasoning is awesome, we even bought some to use at home. We really enjoy coming here to eat!

Pretty good place to eat. Brisket was good. Hushpuppies are amazing, as was the banana pudding. (served warm) About the only issue I personally had was that the sweet tea isn’t all that great. I’m very much from the south though and like me tea pretty sweet. If you’re not from thr area, this mau not be an issue for you. Otherwise, nice place. Friendly staff, and food was served quickly, in spite of it being fairly busy. They’ve got their system down. Good atmosphere. About what you’d expect from a southern BBQ restaurant. Overall, good experience.

I got take out from the Checkered Pig. We ordered the 1/2 Champion. This let us try their diferent meats. Ribs, Brisket, pulled pork, chicken breast, and hushpuppies and three sides. The meats were great and so was the hushpuppies. I would have given it 5 stars, but they forgot my green beans. The restaraunt was spacious and well kept. The service was very friendly. I would highly recommend this place.

This was some of the best beef brisket I have had in a very long time! I went for lunch a couple weeks ago, and it was absolutely packed, though this stuff was working so hard and so fast, even with no empty tables, there wasn’t a wait. Sides were all delicious, especially the mac & cheese. Do not get me started on their special sauce, I could drink a whole glass of it! If you are in Martinsville, check it out.

would give this place 0 stars if i could but won’t let me do that. the food was disgusting, brisket and barbecue was nasty, dry and cold. told the waitress and she said that they make it fresh every day and that was not the truth. the barbecue and fries were disgusting. waitress didn’t even seem to care instead of saying sorry or offering something else walks off in the middle of us telling her about the food. the manager then stated that they make everything fresh every day and that sometimes they do mix barbecue from a couple of days ago. THEN WHY ARE YOU LYING ABOUT IT BEING MADE FRESH EVERY DAY. at least you can do is warm it up and mix some barbecue sauce on it. save your money and take your business else where.

This is worth the drive to Martinsville Va because the food was excellent. We were served quickly, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I have not eaten collard greens that tasted that good in many years. Everything was on point. The only bad thing is I would have like to have tried everything! Guess I’ll have to drive back and work through the menu little by little.

Went on a Tuesday at around 7PM and were able to find a table right way. Wife had pulled pork, macaroni salad, collard greens and hush puppies. I had ribs,chicken wings, collard greens, hot coleslaw and hush puppies. The portions were very large. The ribs,pulled pork and chicken wings were outstanding! The collards were good but a bit spicy for the wife but she did like the Mac salad. I have never had nor heard of hot slaw but it was tasty. Neither of us thought the hush puppies were that good. Our waitress was very attentive and provided us with good service. Over all it was good and we would eat here again if in the area.
