One Spoon
It was a very relaxed evening when we reached. We were 2 people and didn’t reserve any table, but the owner set us up in a nice corner.

When we were ordering they insisted on having some fried fish balls even tho we weren’t so enthusiastic about having more food.
I ordered Gỏi cuốn with shrimp and mango. It wasn’t nice in my opinion, the flavor weren’t mixing harmoniously together everything was just standing out on their own. But nice touch with the mint. The worst was the rice paper they used, it wasn’t like the other I had before. Very hard to chew on or to bite to be honest.
The Phở wasn’t outstanding, something was missing.

Quantity wise I thought it wasn’t enough for 10€, but I had to change my mind because I was full at the end. And we ended up leaving half the fish balls too.
A very honest action from the owner was to cut the price of that dish accordingly to how much we ate so from 8€ it was 4€.

The service was good.
Will I go back here soon? I’ll think about it.

In A Nutshell:

-Hard to find a Vietnamita restaurant in Rome, even harder to find one during siesta.
-Joseph the owner was extremely nice. He’s visited all over VN (North, Central, South).
-From 26 years ago after he first tasted VN food he fell in love & started to write notes on the dishes he liked.
-After 6 years of being open he still shares that enthusiasum.
-He does a great job of utilizing local ingredients to come as close as he can to authentic VN food.
-I really enjoyed the pho.

Overall, if you order Cafe Den Da, make sure you ask for extra ice.

Very good Vietnamese restaurant. The owner is Italian but very enthusiastic about Vietnam and Vietnamese food. The material is fresh and original (some are imported from Vietnam like fish sauce, beer, coffee). Highly recommend and will definitely come back to try other dishes.

Quite refined Vietnamese restaurant off Rome’s city center, and you can sense it immediately from entering the place.
The owners set a high bar for the kitchen and staff about quality of food and service, and it seems that they all manage to perform very well.
it’s a different experience around this neighborhood – and one you’d like to have.

Really friendly staff with high class dining feel but affordable Vietnamese cousine. They have a wide variety of traditional meals. Definitely need to give this a try if your missing home or looking for a homecooked meal with a beautiful atmosphere. Takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We got 2 glasses of prosecco and rice cake for free which is super amazing. We had shrimp mango rolls, beef curry, and pork ribs with honey sauce. The food is tasty, the service is super nice, and the prices are super affordable.

Probably the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Rome. The service was good and fast. Make sure to order the correct amount of spice as it’s spicy for Asians, not Europeans. Will be back to taste more.

I love this place and whenever I can I come back. The staff are very polite and helpful, the food is just wonderful. My favorites are the pho soup and the nam rolls.

Some earlier reviewers say that the food is not authentic Vietnamese. I’m not Vietnamese so I can’t be a judge of that. All I can say I that I really like the dishes on the menu!

I think the dishes here is as authentic any ethnic cousine anywhere can be outside it’s original territory.
