A real Seward gem, a must visit. The atmosphere is relaxed, and our server was incredible – a good sense of humor! Furniture group of 4, we had 3 Halibut fish and chips and all three of us would get this again. All of us agreed that this meal was among the best fish & chips we have ever had. The fish was done tender and flaky. The batter fried crisp with a good color as well. The coleslaw – a must have!. The 4th person had the turkey sandwich, and would order it again – it was excellent.

I stopped in here as it was close to where I was staying. Quick walk in the rain. I was pleasantly surprised by everything. I sat at the bar where the female bartender was just amazing. I watched her be so busy between taking orders, making drinks, answering the phone, working with people who were picking up orders, etc. it was clearly a stressful job, but she did it with the calmest and nicest manner and decorum. She doesn’t know this, but she put a smile on my face the entire time I was there. I ordered a salad and a pizza. The food was fantastic, and I really appreciated that she let me sample some of the local beers before choosing. I cannot recommend The Highliner enough!

We only had a pizza to go here as our hotel host recommended this as the best pizza in town. It was good, maybe very good, but not as good as east coast pies. I wish we could have eaten in the restaurant as the clam chowder looked really greatness well as some other entrees I observed as I came in the get the pizza!
Next time we will dine in! It looked pretty busy and people were waiting for a table so maybe best to call ahead and make a reservation!

Food was average. Over-priced for the quality, given there are better restaurants close by at similar prices. The Halibut Ceviche was a ripoff at $24 – tiny portion and below average flavor. Fish Tacos’ filling was good but corn tortillas dry. Salad was good – Grilled Sable fish add-on was delicious and greens ok. Flight of beers was great- good selection to pick from and reasonably priced at $11.

Great food — surprisingly great! Everything we had was delicious, and the kale salad especially stood out. A wonderful find in Seward with fresh flavors and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping in!

We do a lot of traveling and eat out a lot. We really enjoyed this restaurant. We ordered the clam chowder, which was really good and had plenty of clams in it. It was nice and creamy and not watery like other places. We weren’t hungry enough for 2 full entrees so we shared the cod fish and chips. It was perfect for us to share. The coleslaw was really good. The cod was really good. Service was excellent. We are really glad that we stopped in to eat.

This is the first place we have been to that is rated less than 4.7 and we decided to go because everywhere else was closed on Sunday. With that said, the host at the entrance was great. He was very inviting and polite. Then after he showed us to our seats, we waited a while before our server finally came to take our order. This wouldn’t be a big deal, especially if they’re busy, but they weren’t packed.
So, my husband ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables. He added salt after a couple of bites, and that’s not like him. He said the steak needed to be seasoned, but the gravy was good. The potatoes were delicious and the veggies were good, too.
I ordered cod tacos so the mango sauce and my first bite had bones. I would have been okay with it, if I knew to expect it, but it surprised me.
The taste was okay, but nothing I’d go back for. Fortunately, the white Alaska Belgian beer was good.
When we were done, we waited for our server to come back and she never did, so I had to go ask another server for our check.
We wouldn’t go back to this restaurant if we have other choices, and we will definitely stick to restaurants with more than a 4.7 rating.

We wanted to try fresh seafood in Seward, so we choose this place. There was a wait time of 20 minutes, as soon as we got the table, we had to wait another 10 minutes for server to come and take our orders. We ordered crab cakes, halibut, Cod, fish and chips, chowder, and Alfredo pasta. To our surprise, everyone in our group voted Alfredo pasta to be the favorite. It’s shocking that, we liked Alfredo pasta at a seafood restaurant. Fish and chips was okayish, halibut was average, clam chowder was above average, crab cakes was the best in seafood items. We liked Alfredo pasta so we ordered another Alfredo pasta w/ chicken this time. The second pasta was no were close to the first one. It looked both pasta was made at two different restaurants.
Coming to desserts, we ordered their award winning creme brûlée, personally I didn’t find it why it is named “Award Winning”. It was normal toffee flavored creme brûlée. The triple chocolate cake was super rich. The sweet potato cheesecake was our favorite.

The cost for our order was above $300. I cannot justify this high of a cost for this small amount of food. Overall, it was an average experience, nothing wow, nothing new or surprise.

Needing something hot after a day of kayaking we chose this place for their reviews on clam chowder. Our bowl was hearty with more potatoes than anything. Couldn’t taste or find any clams. The fish tacos were okay.

Customer service was awesome. We came down in the train and my phone was about dead due to taking so many pictures. The hostess let me charge my phone until we were ready to leave. The food was pretty tasty.
