So last night, me and a group of 4 girls had a reservation for ACOTAR trivia. We called ahead to add a friend yo our group and they said “no we are at 28 reservations and cannot add anyone else”, so we didn’t bring our additional friend.
Upon arrival the restaurant was PACKED, I am recovering from a broken leg so I was immediately stressed. There was clearly over 28 people inside when we arrived at 6:45, so we immediately knew what they told us on the phone was untrue, and we could have brought someone else.
Well, to make matters worse the front door was blocked. The restroom was inaccessible. The line for the bar was through the entire restaurant. They were 100% over their 28 person max capacity and they continued to allow people in. We finally made it to the bar, where they said they’d get us a table. They shoved us right against the wall by the cashier and the ramp down to ax throwing. With that, there was endless people around us, we couldn’t hear the trivia guide (I had to read off her laptop on the counter next to me to see the questions). And again, I’m recovering from a broken leg, im sitting at the TOP of a ramp on unstable ground to make sure
I don’t fall down the ramp. See the problem here??
Food and drinks took over an hour to get to us because they were so packed.
The food was excellent and I could tell the staff was not expecting this, but no one was taking charge and kicking out those without a reservation. We did what we were supposed to by making a reservation, and we were then punished and shoved in the corner while earlier walk ins got the ideal tables.
For charging $5 for trivia this is frankly unacceptable in a safety, accessibility, and respect to the customers and full time staff.
Unfortunately, I will not be back. Which is so sad because the food and drinks were SO GOOD. I just personally can’t justify going to restaurants that value profit over literal safety of guests.
Either handle your trivia host and require reservations only or PLEASE stop hosting trivia if you do not have someone there to manage the crowd control.
The place is air conditioned so that was perfect. The food was brought to our reserved table nice and hot. By the end we were all very satisfied. And I won so that makes it even better.
