I went here for the first time and had a terrible experience. When my bottles were packed up, one extremely small piece of cardboard was used to prevent my larger bottles from breaking. If I had seen how small the piece of cardboard was, I would have requested something entirely different. Unfortunately, I discovered how small the piece of cardboard was when the bottles broke on my way home. When I spoke with them about what had happened they didn’t care one bit about my experience and told me that I assume all the risk once I leave the store. If you decide to purchase from them I would recommend making sure they use much bigger pieces of cardboard so nothing breaks in your car.

I’ve been ordering wine online from rye brooke wines for over a decade and have had only positive experiences. They deliver to Manhattan free of charge if you order a certain amount, which is a great convenience! High end bottles or mid tier, vintages are always exactly what I ordered and if there is an issue (out of stock or different vintage), they take care of it via email or over the phone.

8/21/2024 – My first online order at Rye Brook, and I am extremely pleased. I ordered 4 bottles of a very fine Spanish wine that they had a very good price on, so that’s a plus! The website stated up to 2 to 4 days to assemble and ship, very reasonable for an online shop, but they had the label printed the same day and on the UPS truck just a few hours later, so that’s a plus! There was an automated order confirmation, that’s a plus! Even though there wasn’t an automatic shipping alert from the shop, I order a LOT (at least monthly) of online wine from across the US and overseas, and I have alerts set up for my UPS and FedEx accounts, I was informed of the shipment as soon as the label was generated, no need for an email from the Shop when I have that already set up, so I had that covered. I live outside Rochester NY. Normally I only have ground shipping from other NY shops which was the case here even though they offered several expedited delivery options. The wine showed up in perfect shape, very well packed in a dense Styrofoam 6 pack and a heavy cardboard box, and within two days, another plus. I didn’t need to speak live to anyone as I knew exactly what I wanted and there was absolutely no issue with my order. Yeah, I’ve bookmarked the website and will be back. Thank you!

I had a negative experience with their shipper, UPS. Wine wasn’t delivered on promised delivery date, and ther was no updated date for several days. When the delivery date was updated, the wine wasn’t delivered within the stated time window.

To add insult to injury, Rye Brook substituted a lesser vintage of one of the wines, listed for a lower price than the wine I ordered.

I will take my business elsewhere in the future.

I placed an order online for 12 bottles of wine and picked up by myself from store. There was no issue at all. I emailed them my ETA and they had it ready for me. The wines were as I ordered. I enjoyed good wines at decant price. Their website is very slow but have good amount of information of wines. Some of the negative reviews here are unfair in my opinion. On the website, they made it very clear that some of wines are not available in their inventory that they need 2-3 days for pick up/shipping. For those wines, It’s indicated well that you can’t miss it.

This shop often has the best price in the country on many bottles I’m looking for. It is very convenient that they are fairly close to me. As opposed to what some reviewers said, I rarely have bottles unavailable. And of those, most are labeled as such and are in stock quickly.

I’ve bought many cases of wine online and out of state from places far and wide. I shop around and in many instances, for what I drink, Rye Brook offers either the best price or close enough such that it’s worth shelling out to know I’ll get the product and not have an issue. I’ve never had to hound them or inquire after an order. Everything arrives well packaged and I’ve yet to get a tainted bottle and shipping is prompt. I’ve probably used them a dozen times the past year with no mishaps. I unconditionally recommend them to friends and even the UPS driver who drops the order off for me is buying from them.

I am reviewing this shop in regards to an online order I placed. I am generally hesitant to purchase liquor out of state via an online order – there is always a concern that you won’t get what you ordered, especially in regards to harder to find bottles. That being said, Rye Brook Wine & Spirits had a whisky that I have been looking for for quite a while. The price was over MSRP, but considering the scarcity and the release date of this particular batch, the price was very fair. More importantly, I received exactly what I order, and the packaging was awesome… there was no way the bottles were going to break in transit (another big concern). I am just posting this review for other out of state customers who may be interested in purchasing something – my experience was great… I was finally able to get ahold of a bottle I have been looking for for years.

Terrible service. They shipped my $160+ order, never notified me of tracking, UPS allegedly was unable to deliver and then they never told me anything. After 10 days I called and they had attitude telling me it is not their problem. Horrible store never trust them.
