This use to be the best sandwich in Tucson. I was surprised how dry the meat was and how stale the bread was. The French fries use to be double fried to a perfect crisp.
Now they are barely done.
Like so many places the prices go way up and the quality goes way down. This was about a month ago we were here. Since then I have made the best Italian Beef we ever had piled high and dripping with Au Jus and vegetables in olive oil and crinkle cut fries.
For the same price that we paid for 2 sandwiches 2 French fries we got 8 sandwiches and 8 baskets of French fries. And no angry young girl taking our order.
Don’t need to go back.

Extremely fast drive through experience, indicative of non ‘made to order’ sandwiches…. but even so it was amazing. Lots of meat, fresh spicy peppers. Exactly what I was craving- a hot and juicy meat sandwich with quality bread. Pictured is the combo with hot peppers and cheese dipped.

I had a great experience at this place. By all means it is not fancy. But the food is fantastically wonderful. Luke, himself is awesome. I met him and he’s a really nice guy.. I tried the food and had a Chicago dog with french fries and a beef sandwich. Both were spot on and super delicious. I will be coming back.. If you like Italian subs, sausages, or beef, try this place, you won’t not be disappointed with price and taste

Finally stopped in after hearing soo many great things. We were immediately greeted and helped upon arrival, despitea busy lunch rush. With 3 people in our party we ordered 3 different items. All came out quickly and exactly as ordered. The food was delicious and pretty fairly priced for a decent size sandwich. We chose to sit outside and the outdoor dining area was clean and spacious. We were very pleased with iur meal and our service. Very positive experience and will definitely be back when in the area.

I just hit the drive thru for an Italian beef with peppers and cheese. What a sandwich… Let’s say you were craving roast beef. You might think to go to Arby’s for a beef n cheddar or 2. Lukes will give you twice the beef for the price and with a lot better quality and service.

Lukes…. a local, long time ckassic. Of course the Chicago-style Italian beef is what Lukes is known for …. I like it plain and dipped. But the Chicago dog with all the fixing is really really good! Then you have the french fries… I think they’re the best french fries in Tucson. Old school thick crinkle cut fries… Chrisp…And yeah they’re actually salted while they’re hot.
The thing that a lot of people don’t know about is the Turkey sub… I don’t know what the heck they do, but it’s perhaps the best turkey sub sandwich I’ve ever had anywhere. Anymore, I’m more likely to get the Turkey sub or the Chicago dog than I am the Italian beef… Yep both are that good! Honorable mention is pretty much everything else on the menu… It’s all yummy and deliciously unhealthy! BTW, The onion rings are perfect. The hamburger is old school good that you would have got at a drive-in 40 years ago…….

Fun Chicago style deli. The lobby was closed an hour before closing time, but it wasn’t very clear what was going on. We went through the drive through after seeing someone else get food.
We got the Italian beef, pastrami, and a hot dog. The Italian beef was sopping wet like you’d want, but somehow the meat was a little dry still and it could have used a little more flavor, not bad but not the best I’ve had. The pastrami was the highlight and was quite flavorful. The hot dog seemed pretty great.
I think it’s worth a visit, but maybe lunch is better.

OMG! Soo many delicious things to choose from, i got a polish with fries. It was quite big as well and very good. The lemonade is top line! Price is fair. You can dine in or eat outside on the patio.

If you are in the mood for some Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches or some Chicago Hot Dogs this is the place where you can find them. We have been there twice and have been pleased with the food. The staff is efficient and very friendly. We plan to stop in again when we are in the area.
