Local Foodi Truly Authentic
Well let’s start off by giving a five star rating to our awesome server Eva. Even though they were not busy she was super attentive and very personable. Customer service these days is at an all time low and she really gave me faith that one day the hospitality industry will be hospitable again. I really wish I would have read the reviews beforehand. Now to the food…the chips and salsa were amazing! The salsa was so full of flavor and the chips were not greasy at all. My daughter has the steak fries app for her main and she really enjoyed it. I on the other hand did not enjoy my steak chimichanga(my spelling questionable). To be such a big burrito if you will I had to hunt through the bland beans and rice to find it. Considering this item cost almost sixteen dollars I was highly disappointed. Not only was it my birthday I had to go to another restaurant and get food because my plate was horrible. If I had the option for a refund I would have. I literally took four bites and was done due to the lack of seasoning. I really had high expectations for my meal and was horribly let down. I don’t know that I would come back anytime soon to be served black beans and rice that taste like water and non existent steak. It seems others agree with my statement as we all said the same thing. If I wanted to eat canned beans and rice I surely would not drive twenty minutes to get it. Considering there were only four people in the entire restaurant on a Saturday afternoon it should have been my clue this place was a mistake. Better luck next time I guess.

The food was fantastic! We got tacos and each one tasted amazing. The service could have been a bit better; the waiter wasn’t attentive. The music was a bit on the loud side, as well, but with the food quality I think we’ll be going back.

I’m being very generous with the 3 stars.

Pros: 1) The friendly hostess that seated us right away and was accommodating. 2) The gentleman wearing blue gloves that served our food and made us feel welcome. 3) The margarita tasted good with the chip and salsa.

Cons: Service could’ve been better. Our waitress was Isabella and she seemed uninterested. Her demeanor was borderline rude and we felt rushed. When I asked her a question about some fries for my toddler, she answered it really quick and moved on to take the orders from the other people sitting at the table. She didn’t even allow me to finish my questions and complete my order. Lol! I had to ask the person beside me to place my side order for me. I wasn’t able to get my margarita the same time as the other people I was with because apparently if you order the special (2 tacos + 1 margarita) you have to place the order all at once and cannot order the drink first. That was an inconvenience for me to convenience them. It’s not that difficult to place one margarita order first, and 2 tacos later. We had a cup of contaminated water and asked for a replacement which she never brought out and only came back to refill our waters once. We had to flag her down when we wanted to order additional food/drinks. To end our experience with her, she brought us a to go box that did NOT fit our taco. Um, ok. Are we the first people to not finish our food??
The food was not that great and presentation was lacking. Maybe if it looked better, it might’ve tasted better? The guacamole was brought out by our waitress, Isabella, and she took two forks and mashed it around a little bit leaving big chunks of avocados and too much lime was used. First time I’ve seen 2 forks used to do this at a restaurant. The tacos were a hit and miss. Some were good, and others tasted stale. Looks like they just threw it on the plate with little effort and it was messy. The fries tasted great and was the freshest tasting thing we had besides the chips.
Probably won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place if asked by peers. See pictures for reference.

The food here was truly amazing. The atmosphere is very modern from the restrooms to the lingo and the music they play. The chips and salsa (come in mild, medium, and hot) was great, as were the steak quesadilla and the steak fajitas. Highly recommend going here if you’re in the mood for Mexican food with a twist as it is closer to a Tex-Mex but the food is really fresh.

Great service and delicious menu options. The chips are crisp and salsa is lightly spicy. Nice touch is preparing fresh guac at the tableside. Only disappointment was we chose a spicy guac and it was not even mild, but it was fresh and had a good flavor. The food portions are plentiful and had to take 1/2 of it home. Very nice dining experience.

The BEST salsa, chips and quac in town. They make table side quac and you get decide how spicy you want it. I get the same order everytime. The enchiladas de Pollo has the perfect balance of chicken, spinach and cheese. And the pie….what dreams are made of. Our bartender/server Rachel was hands down the most friendly helpful and fun person.

It was ok. Food is good for the price, but it’s nothing to write home about. The Korean BBQ taco was great and so was the salsa. Margaritas tasted pre-made and very sugary. Friendly and quick service. Good spot for a quick bite.

For the price and location this is good value. The kitchen is very fast and consistent, very high quality food coming out. The tacos have a lettuce wrap option which I don’t see offered at other Mexican restaurants around town. Nicely appointed inside and good music. Only downside is you can tell they are understaffed but that is par for the course these days.

First time trying Cantina 1511 (6.20.20). The first thing that I will say is that I called them before I drove to the restaurant to make sure that they are following social distancing guidelines. Of course I was told that they are following them.

We were seated in a half booth at the front of the restaurant right behind a table that was not 6 feet away from our booth. Then not long after that a party of 3 showed up and instead of seating them someplace else they sat them in the booth next to us…..only about 2 feet between the tables. Common sense….if you are practicing social distancing then you don’t seat guests at a table right next to other guests. You skip tables so that there is at least one empty table between each guest.

Finally right before we left a party of 7 showed up and instead of them seating them someplace else they sat them at a table literally about 1 foot from the booth.

I had seen enough! At that point all that I had was an appetizer and decided that I would not order an entree….the place was getting too crowded and I was not going to take the risk. By the time that we paid the check and left at around 8 pm the outside patio was packed with people….no social distancing and barely any table kept empty. And never at any point during our meal did they turn away anyone who walked in…..operating at 50% capacity was the other thing that was not being followed.

Son had the carne asada fries, I had the 5 cheese fundido. Then we both ordered quarto leche cake. Son said his fries and cake were good. My fundido started out good when it first arrived to the table and was hot but once it cooled off the cheese took on this grainy texture. Prices a little high on things like a basic chimichunga plate ($14 if I remember correctly).

Long story short I would advise not visiting this restaurant until the coronavirus situation passes.

I will not be back until there is a cure for the virus.
