If you’re in DC, you HAVE to try this spot. I did a DoorDash order and I really appreciate how well they sealed and packaged everything—it makes such a difference.
But the food? Wow. The chicken was incredible: perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. Even the fries were on point and actually stayed crispy!
I’m honestly jealous of people who live here; if this was in my town, I’d be ordering every week. Next time I’m in DC, this is officially my first stop.

I took an Uber here from my hotel, ate there and took the bus back!!
Made to order, fresh, soft, buttered waffle with powder sugar. The wings are seasoned and crunchy. If you add mambo sauce OMG you will lick your fingers. The drink was perfectly sweet, but not diabetes in a bottle lol.
Customer service was great! It is a REVOLVING DOOR in here so be prepared to wait. I have NEVER seen do many Doordash or Uber Eats deliveries.
I ate there because I am a Foodie . If you are “sensative” to “Urban/ a lil ghetto” areas get delivery. If you don’t care about bro man selling you discount items or someone asking for $1 go in person.
Either way get this chicken! The next time I am in DC I will be back!!

Ate at H & Chicken at a recommendation of a friend who said it was a must try while in DC. The chicken wings were fantastic and the waffle could hold its own. The mambo sauce was great and so legendary that a guy came back in the store asking if he could have my extra sauce containers. Place was steadily busy and many doordash drivers were in and out. Not many seats inside but does have a high bar area.

I ordered the four wings fried hard with two waffles and a side of mac & cheese, and let me tell you — everything complemented each other perfectly. The wings were crispy and full of flavor, the waffles were fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness, and the mac & cheese was creamy and comforting. The presentation was on point, and you could tell care went into every detail.
I also tried the half-and-half sweet tea, and I was honestly shocked at how good it was. I wasn’t expecting much, but it ended up being one of the best sweet teas I’ve had in a long time.

This location is the former Crown Fried Chicken on H Street NE in DC. Unfortunately, my recent experience was disappointing.
The environment inside and outside of the store felt chaotic and uncomfortable. During my visit, there were several disruptive situations involving customers, which made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming. It did not feel like a well-managed or orderly space.
The service was also problematic. I ordered two 10-piece dark meat specials (Monday–Wednesday promotion at $9.99 each). After taking my order and payment, the staff informed me that no chicken was ready and that it would take about 20 minutes for a fresh batch. Due to what appeared to be a shift change, that 20-minute wait turned into nearly an hour. It would have been more considerate to communicate the delay upfront before completing the transaction. Waiting in a crowded and disorderly space for that long was frustrating.
As for the food, the quality did not meet expectations. The chicken had a noticeable burnt grease smell from the packaging, and the taste seemed off compared to other locations. I typically visit the Hyattsville, MD location, which has consistently been significantly better in terms of food quality, service, and overall customer experience.
I hope management takes steps to improve organization, communication, and overall quality at this location.

This was an absolute meal! The chicken was awesome, the fixings really good…not one complaint! Was able to eat for 2 days off of a 4 peice dinner and mac n cheese. Just be careful if you check out the H St location.

This is upsetting that I had hair fried in my chicken I was coming here when the owner and his son was there taking orders they was nice respectful my food was always fresh. Now they throw lots of chicken up and it sits and people complain bout it’s cold and old never had this problem with the owner now they don’t care the macaroni and cheese was old no time on it I’m a Popeyes manager and the same rules apply no time a was on my sides at all I won’t return til I talk with the owner

Food is pretty decent but I received 1chicken back instead of the 4 breast 5 wing meal I ordered. Mac and cheese was good greens were ok . And I had 2 burnt hard biscuits.. I’ve had a better experience prior so I will not treat the review based off a one time experience.

It wasn’t bad, the mac & cheese was bland but combined it with the chicken & you don’t have a bad result. The biscuit was pretty good though, buttery with a hint of sweetness. Being from NY I’ve all had all kinds of flavors, but people recommended it, happy to say I tried it.
