If you’re looking for a meal that feels like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen, Rosie Jo’s is the place to go. Their fried chicken is legendary—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and clearly made to order. I highly recommend the fried mushrooms and the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. We also love the potato skins. And if you love chicken livers… you’ll be in awe of Rosie’s crispy taste on a southern favorite.
The portions here are huge, the prices are incredibly fair, and the staff makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. Don’t leave without trying a slice of their homemade pie (the coconut cream is a game-changer!) and they serve a scoop of ice cream for every costumer. It’s a local gem for a reason. Check it out!

This is the 4th time I have been here. And after our visit today, sadly we will not be back. If it was one or two issues, we could overlook them, but it was so that and a health and safety concern.
I do understand it is the holidays and they are busy. So service suffered. Not very friendly staff from any of the staff we encountered. We had to wait a while to get service at our table. We went to get our own menus due to no service. We will survive.
Service unimpressive. Eggs came out hard for basted medium. Never asked how food was. We will survive.
My husband watched a man sitting at a table at the end of the restaurant for probably half an hour during our time there. A staff member came to that table to wrap silverware. They were touching the eating end of the silverware. Hopefully they washed their hands. Then the man who had been sitting at the table for a while and had not been up to wash his hands started helping with the silverware. Very unsanitary practices and just gross. Hopefully they will get better health and safety practices lines up. Touching silverware and napkins with unwashed hands is not acceptable. This person was in my husband’s view from the table for our duration of the visit.

Our server’s name is Rita. The music plays gently in the background and is not over powering. There’s no TV in here which is something that seems harder to find nowadays.
Our food took about 20-30 minutes and arrived HOT! Except my triple stacks sandwich.
The chicken tenders were HUGE!!!
The salad seemed like a side salad.
The chili cheese fries were soft and the chili had beans in it.
But it all tasted pretty good. While the food was great, nobody really seemed happy. But they’re honest and down to earth it seems.
They also say it’ll take over 40 minutes if you order the fried chicken. Can’t tell if that includes the chicken tenders which also appear fried. Idk what that’s about.
The portions all seem well worth the value. Except maybe the shrimp, because Rita also doesn’t think it’s worth the money.

This cafe, located in a strip mall, is an odd one. Upon entry, we noticed several dirty tables and had trouble finding a clean place to sit. The waitress approached us several minutes later, and was short, wanting us to immediately order. Because we’d never been there and hadn’t had time to look over the menu, we obviously felt rushed. I guess that it was good that she showed up then, because she never really returned. At one point, I saw an older man enter the kitchen area, and I heard a waitress ask him where he was sitting. She told him to go sit down and she would bring him some pie. Later, we observed the same man busing a table for two older ladies. From what we could see, he was a customer and not even an employee there. I saw him return the rag that he used to the waitress station. That, obviously, struck us as odd. The food was okay, boxed potatoes and canned gravy was what it was. I had to wait over 15 minutes with a full plate of food sitting in the middle of the table before the waitress approached us again to ask if I wanted a to go box. She begrudgingly asked us if we wanted the ice cream, which is included with entrées. She never told us that we needed to pay in the front, and never brought us a ticket. After waiting so long for service, I just walked up to the register and told them the table number, and was promptly rang up. If this is the norm there, I feel like the waitress could have said something. I used the women’s restroom, which has a distressed floor. However, on top of that floor, there was a Band-Aid stuck to it. I have no idea if it appeared there that day or had been there for months. It just seemed filthy. All in all, the place does not inspire confidence, regarding its lack of cleanliness. I would not return here again.

We have breakfast here every Saturday. Service is wonderful and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the omelet. Casey always takes amazing care of us. We meet our neighbors here and visit while we eat.

The best fried mushrooms and onion rings hands down! I had the 4 piece fried chicken and it’s worth the 20 min wait for it to cook. The table also got the fried fish filet sandwich, the Philly cheese steak, bowl of chili, and the patty melt. Everyone liked their meal and the prices on the food were very reasonable. Definitely the best food we had on this trip and the best value! The service was attentive and we appreciated our servers recommendations! It was about a 25 min drive from our hotel and well worth the drive! It’s in a plaza so there was plenty of parking options.

We have visited many times. Came on a busy Sunday at 1230 pm . Place was packed . We got a seat fast. Drinks and friendly service fast. Food did take around 45 mins. But was understandable. We also had apps of onion rings and fried mushrooms and pickles . Onions are hot, crispy crunchy flavorful. Love the fried pickles. Mushrooms were just Meh no flavor. But that’s just my opinion.
The CHICKEN FRIED STEAK AND FISH, chicken tenders all good hot and cooked to perfection. Meatloaf and Burger was a lil dry . And as always the fresh fries are on point
I highly recommend this place.

Sadly, I think we may have been forgotten. We had our order taken about 10 mins after being seated. We ordered a club sandwich with french fries and a taco salad. It took approximately 45mins to get a server to see check on our order after flagging her down and asking her about it. She was not our original server, but was passing by and was very helpful after we spoke to her. She went into the kitchen and came out with our food within 1 minute. As she set our taco salad and club sandwich on our table, she stated that they were still waiting on our fries. Within another 5 minutes, the same server, that was helpful, came back out with my fries. Unfortunately they hadn’t been cooked long enough and were “floppy”, we didn’t eat them. We were never offered drink refills, either. The salad and sandwich were delicious, aside from the service. This place seemed like a local favorite, not sure we will be back.

Great little cafe. In Springfield for a wedding and was looking for a local place for dinner. The reviews were great so my wife and I gave it a try. Excellent service. Arrived about 6pm and a couple tables left. It was busy which was a great sign. My wife had the patty melt and she was very happy with her choice. Sorry, couldn’t get a pic of of the full melt as she couldn’t wait. I had the four piece fried chicken dinner. All came out fresh and piping hot. Delicious. Great menu as well as a ton of homemade pie options. Will definitely go here again when back in town. The prices are very very affordable and the service is excellent. Highly recommend!!

Nice little diner, the kind we like to seek out. Something different. Food was good, onion rings were great. Only drawback was wait staff did not check on table throughout, no eye contact when walking by. Us snd 2 other tables had to wave down someone to refill drinks, bring extra napkins and had to ask for check and where we should pay at. Friendly enough, just need to check in once food is put on table please.
