This location is now on our NO GO list. This experience tracks with all the other negative reviews.
There is also clearly a morale problem amongst the staff members which points to a managerial issue behind the scenes.
And, please, you corporate social media response people, please save your empty comments. Fix this location before saying one more word.
There is a male manager who is on duty most days who hovers over the line watching every scoop of meat. I have personally heard him yelling at employees — in Spanish — to stop giving out too much meat and to charge people for double meat. I have also seen him argue with customers about what qualifies as “double meat,” which makes ordering food uncomfortable and tense.
The way portions are handled here feels deliberate and deceptive. This manager often serves customers and treats the meat like a shell game — scooping up a full spoonful, dumping part of it back, then adding a small amount again so it looks like he is giving you extra. At the same time, the meat is chopped into very small pieces and spread thinly over the rice to make it appear like more than it really is. Even when you pay for double meat, it still does not look or feel like a true double portion compared to other Chipotle locations. I have also noticed that the serving spoons themselves seem smaller than they used to be.
The only reason the bowls end up looking full at all is because they load up the cheapest ingredients — rice, beans, lettuce, corn — while being extremely stingy with the protein you are actually paying for. That is not value, it’s a tactic to make skimpy portions look acceptable.
Because of this obsession with cutting costs, the food quality has dropped badly. The meat often tastes off or low-grade, and the guacamole is watery. When a bowl with extra meat and guacamole comes to $20, this level of quality is unacceptable.
While this manager spends all his time policing portions, cleanliness is ignored. The prep area behind the glass is frequently messy with spilled ingredients and dirty surfaces. I have seen employees wipe things down with dirty rags and then immediately handle food. I have also seen workers touch prep items without gloves and cough behind the counter near uncovered food.
This location now feels like a chaotic, cost-cutting operation where customers are shorted, quality is sacrificed, and the employees look miserable here.
Chipotle corporate should seriously look at what is happening here. Until there is new management and real oversight, this location is not worth going to anymore.
Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy is the word I would use to describe this place.
Special shout out to the girl employee on her lunch break plain Spanish music so we can hear it in the dining room! Get some ear buds!
Next time I’m over here and want chipotle, I’m just gonna drive the extra few minutes up the road and go to the one in Westchase
This location used to be great, but it’s definitely going downhill. While it’s in a convenient spot, the food and service are absolutely 0 stars. I won’t be coming back unless serious improvements are made.
The staff here seem to be mostly college-aged, and unfortunately, many lack basic communication and interpersonal skills. We were met with poor attitudes from the moment we walked in, with no sense of customer service.
Food: Ordered a chicken burrito bowl and got exactly three pieces of chicken. We also ordered two kids’ quesadillas (apparently, regular-sized ones are only available if you order online). Each quesadilla is supposed to come with chips and a drink, but we only received one set. When I asked about the missing items, I was told we were only charged for one side and drink. Online, however, the menu clearly shows that each meal includes a side and drink for the same price listed on their in-store menu.
Atmosphere: We ate outside and could see the staff talking and seemingly complaining about us. The moment we walked back inside, they quickly dispersed and became quiet.
Cleanliness: After waiting for the restroom to become available, an associate came out. Inside, I found the toilet seat dirty, an empty toilet roll on the floor, and paper strewn everywhere.
Overall, a very poor experience. I won’t be coming back here again!
