Great wings and Jojos! The red beans and rice wasn’t all that and it was a very small portion. They definitely remind me of shorty and wags from over south. I’ll be back. I just wish they had a bathroom to at least wash my hands.

I have been coming to hickory hut since I was about 2 years old (I’m now 38) back then it was Art Songs … But anyways ,this is honestly the best chicken wings on earth .. I have traveled to many states eaten a wide variety of chicken wings .. But nothing compares to these .. they have the best flavor , texture , amount ,sauces … Trust me ,if you havent ,you’ll want to try this ,specifically for the chicken wings . I know it looks run down and the staff seem to be less than friendly but believe me when I say it’s worth it .

I don’t like giving bad reviews. But in this instant if there was a way that I could give no stars, I would give Hickory Hut no stars. I’m so mad and very disappointed regarding all the money that was spent on the food at this place when what I received was not worth it. The only thing that was good and completely edible was the mild barbeque sauce, ranch, and hot sauce. The chicken wings were done and thankfully somewhat edible (I still will never purchase again), but when it came down to the pork rib tips, they were disappointingly disgusting. Either the rib tips were very chewy like they weren’t done, rubbery, or just totally hard to chew. I also purchased an order of JoJo potatoes fries, but when I received my order what I ended up with was a mixture of soggy and undercooked potato chips with no seasonings. I had high hopes for the peach cobbler but was beyond let down with what it actually tasted like. I’ve never tasted a peach cobbler that mimics Jello, the consistency of old fruit snacks, squishy peaches, pie crust that has the taste and with texture of old cardboard that made me queasy after only one bite. I ordered a small mac and cheese for my daughter, and she loves her mac and cheese, but she did not like the mac and cheese from here. I will never order food from this restaurant ever again. I regret every penny that I spent here and wish I could get my money back. The service was semi okay. The lady who took my order tried to present as nice, but what she actually gave off was as if she didn’t want to be there and was annoyed/irritated/aggravated/agitated (which ever word that you want to use) which made me slightly uncomfortable and somewhat taken back due to her tone and temperament whilst behind the cash register area from the moment that I made my order, whenever I went to ask for something simple as sauces or order a drink, until the moment we all started to pack up and leave. That is when she showed any kind of niceness by asking how I liked everything that was ordered. In which I informed her of what I thought about the food in a nice manner. As we all proceeded to exit. I’m a very dissatisfied customer.

Hickory Hut is the best place to go get some wings. It was originally art songs and then wings and ribs and now Hickory Hut. They still use the same seasoning that has not changed. My only thing is this, that there’s only one they should at least have another one in the Minneapolis area I mean come on share the wealth with everybody. Yes I drove just about 20 mi from my job to go get dinner tonight. It was well worth it though.

I grew up eating Hickory Hut and I’m usually satisfied with the food, but today everything was old and dry. I normally don’t have to tell them to make it fresh, but today I should have. I came all the way from Brooklyn Park, to get this food. I was so disappointed with the chicken and the rib tips. Everything was so tough, it tasted like it had been sitting in the oven for hours. The hojo’s and seasoned rice was good, but thats it. My advice to people is, make sure to tell them to make everything FRESH!!

This food was nasty, the beef ribs were stuff. The beans and rice was like soup no taste. The greens were not season well I was told they were collard greens they were not. Burnt. I spent 74.00 on food I couldn’t eat. They need not try to cook soul food. The potato salad was nasty the potato’s were half cooked I was told it was cooked with eggs that was not true.The coleslaw was old. I wouldn’t recommend anybody eating there.

We’ve been going here since it first opened and it’s gone back and forth but it’s definitely back!! Kinda pricey, paid $79! However, Someone loved their job today cause them rib tips were fire and the chicken wings never disappoint!! 4Stars on atmosphere because of the cumbersome parking!! Worth the money – Yes always a treat!!

Wanted to try this place out bc someone hyped up the rib tips. I ordered their 1/2 rack beef rib dinner. It came with 2 sides. I got the Mac n cheese and seasoned rice. The ribs are overly sauced with the sauce of your choice. I went with spicy. The ribs had little meat although look as though it was meaty. The Mac n cheese was eh. The seasoned rice was just white rice seasoned with a powder bbq dust. The rib tips themselves were ok. They too were overly sauced but the pork flavored with more pronounced. Service was ok, dude seemed like it was a long day and didn’t want to deal with customers. That I can understand.

I came here because the peach cobbler had such great reviews. I got the Saturday Special chicken sandwich which came with 2 sides. I chose Mac and cheese and fries for my sides. I also got a side of hush puppies and a slice of peach cobbler. The chicken in the sandwich was a little dry, the sauce was good. The Mac and cheese and hush puppies were good as well. Try and I might I could not get into the peach cobbler. I don’t know what everyone else is eating but the cobbler did not live up to the hype.
