I had an amazing experience at Costa Vida thanks to Abby! They were out of horchata, which was honestly pretty disappointing at first, but Abby went completely out of her way to make it happen for me anyway. Her effort, kindness, and genuine care for customers completely turned what could’ve been a 2-star experience into a 10-star one. You can tell she truly cares and takes pride in her job. If I were her boss, I’d give her a raise without hesitation. 10/10 would come back again just because of Abby!
Not enough food
Offered great compensation that we agreed on and in the end never got
Catered an order for 100 people. Pick up was supposed to be at 6:15, we did pay over $1,000 to have it ready on time, but it was a super busy night and wasn’t ready until 6:30 which made complete sense, not even mad, it happens. They explained where everything was, how to use the heaters it came with, had everything we needed, and it out to our car for us. Got to our party 5 minutes late, and realized after unpacking there was no way this was feeding 100 people and called them – turns out there was a whole tray of meat missing that was still sitting in the restaurant kitchen. We go back and pick it up now 45 minutes late for the party that has since started and they’re super nice and give us a discount and about 20 free entre vouchers and we agreed that was good. Said they’ll call us on Monday to put the refund through. Never got the call, and discovered half of the vouchers expired in less than a month, half could only be accepted at 1-3 locations NONE of them the location we ordered from, and 1 literally expired 9 months earlier. 1 expired at the end of the following year which seemed far more reasonable. We came back in to both address the refund and see if we could get vouchers we could reasonably use and give. They fixed the refund immediately. They looked at the vouchers, admitted some of them were fake, and then started printing out more that would expire in 6 months. Seemed reasonable. I was handed 15 $10 vouchers that can’t be used with any other voucher and pointed out that there’s no way that’s equivalent to 20 free entrees like we were given?! Manager said nothing, disappeared and had another employee hand me 6 more $5 vouchers that also can’t be used together.
So I left pretty darn pissed.
Never, ever doing that again.
Once I made it inside, though, I was pleased with the atmosphere and the friendly staff. The restaurant is connected to Fat Cats bowling, which adds to the overall vibe. The decor is vibrant and fun, and the team is happy to help you navigate the menu.
Speaking of the menu, I highly recommend the burritos at Costa Vida. They are enormous and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the fresh salsa and guacamole that came with my meal. However, I do think that the prices are a bit steep for what you get.
Overall, if you can handle the parking situation, I think that Costa Vida is worth a visit. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fun, and the staff is friendly. Just be prepared to circle the parking lot a few times before finding a spot.
he literally carried, he was the only one there and was so efficient and on top of everything. Literally carried the store on. his. back. the best burritos we’d ever received and they didn’t fall apart at all. also his nose piercing is 10/10. he did forget to give me pico and lettuce on my quesadilla but i forgive him. also the missionaries are here and they add so much spirit to the atmosphere i really appreciate that touch. i like the chairs
This time I came home to find my salad had barely any food in it, some gross pieces of lettuce, and the tortilla I asked for on the side had been mistakenly put in my salad, taken out, and wrapped up like normal till I opened it up to see that there was a bunch of rice and lettuce stuck to the inside of it. I can’t believe the workers here can put food like this together and not use common sense to tell that it’s unacceptable. Worst location avoid this place if you can help it
One significant issue was the size of the food portions. I found them surprisingly tiny, leaving me feeling dissatisfied and questioning the value for money. When dining out, a reasonable portion size is essential, and unfortunately, Costa Vida fell short in this regard.
Moreover, the connected bowling alley added an unpleasant aroma to the entire experience, impacting the overall enjoyment of the meal. This unexpected aspect further detracted from what should have been a pleasant dining experience.
In summary, my visit to Costa Vida was marred by slow service, an unappealing atmosphere, inadequate food portions, and an unwelcome odor from the nearby bowling alley. The combination of these factors made for a disappointing and frustrating dining experience that, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations.
Pictured below are the actual portions of my meal.
