I’ve been a regular customer here since the restaurant first opened about 5–6 years ago. Over the years, I’ve ordered their biryani countless times, and it has consistently been excellent.
I still visit occasionally just to relive that experience. While some of the curries can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on the day, the biryani has always remained spot on and is easily one of the most reliable dishes on their menu.
On my latest visit, the Al Fahm Mandi completely stole the show. It was outstanding and, honestly, the best I’ve had in the GTA. The flavors took me straight back to Kerala with that authentic taste and balance done right.
If you’re looking for genuine Kerala-style rice dishes, this place continues to deliver where it matters most.

Last midnight I visited this place and ordered the Kerala porotta alfaham chicken combo, beef dry fry, and a few snacks. The porotta was excellent, I really loved it and the portion sizes were generous.
The chicken was initially a bit over fried, but once we mentioned it, they were happy to replace it, which I really appreciated. The hot Horlicks drink is a winner. The egg puff, however, wasn’t that great.
Service by the girl was very friendly and polite. The overall space looks neat and clean, including the washroom.

I ordered three teas, five Kerala porottas, and beef mappas from this restaurant, and the experience was extremely disappointing from the very beginning.
The first impression was terrible. The lady taking our order—who I believe is the owner—gave us an uncomfortable stare the moment we hesitated while deciding our dishes. It was clear she did not appreciate us discussing the menu and showed visible irritation, which made the whole ordering process unpleasant.
The porotta was just average, nothing special. But the beef mappas was a complete disaster—poorly prepared and lacking any real flavor. For a dish that should be rich and comforting, this was a huge letdown.
Overall, the service attitude was unwelcoming, and the food, especially the beef mappas, failed to meet even basic expectations. I would not recommend this place.

Tried the beef fry and parotta, the classic Kerala lunch meal, and it was good and authentic. Remarkably this place is open till 5 am so if you have late night cravings for spicy food this would be a good place to visit. Interior is very humble, with Malayalam or Tamil music playing. Tried the Samovar tea at Kerala Nook in Scarborough and it genuinely surprised me. Perfect balance of strong chai flavor, fresh spices, and that authentic ‘samovar’ depth you don’t get in most places here. Not overly sweet, not watered down—just proper Kerala-style tea done right. Definitely worth stopping by just for this.

I recently visited Kerala Nook to try their Kannur Cocktail. Unfortunately, my experience was not pleasant. The drink had a strange and foul taste that I did not enjoy at all.
This was not my first time visiting the restaurant. On a previous visit, I had ordered dishes like puttu and kadala, kalappam, and mappas. While the food seemed fine at the time, I experienced a stomach upset the next day, which made me concerned about the food quality and hygiene standards.
Because of these experiences, I felt disappointed. I had high expectations for authentic Kerala food, but the taste and my overall experience did not meet those expectations. I hope the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously and works on improving the quality and consistency of their food and drinks.

I ordered porotta from Kerala Nook expecting authentic Kerala taste, but it was really bad. The porotta was hard, dry, and felt stale, not fresh at all. Taste was poor and nothing like real Kerala porotta. Totally not worth the money. I won’t be ordering again and wouldn’t recommend this place for porotta.

We ordered snacks for take out and did not like it. You can taste the oil not of good quality. Tea was average too. They did not have many snacks as well ( you can see from pictures) hence options were limited during my visit.

Great food and service. We went late night and a waitress with short hair was helping us out. She was very friendly and we had a great time. Ordered kuttichira and thalassery Biriyani along with beef roast, porotta and Sharjah shake. Everything was great. Only issue is that we would like it better if the place was cleaner. Floors and toilet seemed to be dirty.

The food is kill We ordered the mutton pepper roast and the beef pepper roast with parota. Being a non Malayali made me want to try more after tasting these. The issue with this place was the order issuance being always done only at the entry desk which creates issues if any extras need to be ordered , but apart from that a great experience. Whoever reads these please be rest assured for ur tastebuds to a treat and dive in.
