Huli huli chicken is the go to for us. Their food tasty & you get a good amount of your choice of protein, rice, & mac for the price too They were super quick! I had barely walked away from the counter and it was ready along with 3-4 other orders. We were there around dinner time and everything was very fresh.

The only reason I’m giving this a 4 out of 5 and not a 5 out of 5 for the food. What is because there’s no spam rice and eggs on the menu. But all in all the food is really good. The location is great because I’ve got to do laundry I can stop by and get a pretty good meal for a good price. The picture is of the Huli huli chicken.

Tasty and they give you a pile of food for the price. You can add your own hot sauces after if you want but it does already have good flavors so you may not need it. They were busy but they clear their orders fast. So if you are working and on a short lunch break I bet they can get you in and out quick. Friendly staff and clean also.

Absolutely love this branch of Hawaiian Time in Salem. The Honolulu marinated beef is unrivaled !!!! Counter host was prompt at the register and happily helped with some asks from other customers. Kitchen was efficient and high quality, plate was completely full but not the messy kine of full. Sheeesh, only negative thing is that the franchise observes Sunday rest days. lol

Edit on 11/14. The open sign was off on both sides of the building and people were cleaning up and I had left because of that which caused me to pick up food from else where. Plus I have not heard from corporate. I had sent them the same message that day with the same issue.
Everything looked like the restaurant was closed.

I was there on Tuesday November 11th at 5:20 pm and they were closed. The hours posted says that they should be open to 9 pm. There was nothing posted on the reason why they were closed early.

Came in during a Friday lunch. As an out of towner, I was excited to try a Hawaiian franchise. The Huli huli chicken came with a side of mac a side of rice and the chicken on top of another bed of rice. Felt like it was too much rice. The atmosphere was busy with lots of folks coming in and out and the cashier was very polite. Other reviews mentioned portions getting smaller, while I have no prior experience here, I was quite full with my portion albeit mostly being rice. Overall a middling experience.

A Tip
I like their food, but I don’t like driving somewhere for take out,
Says closes at 9pm, they wouldn’t let me eat there at 8:10pm, had all the chairs ups, I should be able to eat inside until at least 9pm.
I dont see take out only hours posted.

I love Hawaiian time but what’s going on ? I feel like the portion sizes have got so small . The last two times I’ve went it just keeps getting smaller it’s crazy. It’s not like it used to be. Sad . This is the medium $11.95???

This is an eatery I have frequented often for over the last 17 years.. usually Eugene or here in Salem. The food is always fantastic and the flavor is addictive . I usually order the Huli Huli chicken meal Ali’i. It’s so so so good… I tend to over stuff my big self… mentally I’m like I can’t waste even a few bites left in the container. The service is always friendly here in Salem off 23rd st. They are quicker than most places, and it is super fresh. Get it and get fed well Jesus loves you! Man can not live by Hawaiian time alone

Delicious Food… Locked Behind a Wall of Silence

Hawaiian Time could easily be one of the best spots in town. The food? It’s genuinely good — fresh, flavorful, and worth coming back for.

But here’s the problem: you can’t actually get it.
• Call the number listed on Google? It just rings and rings — no one answers.
• Try to order online? The option exists… but it’s always marked “unavailable.”
• Hope to place a simple pickup order? You’re left frustrated.

It feels like a restaurant where the kitchen is open but the doors are half-closed. Great food without reliable service is like owning a Ferrari that won’t start — exciting in theory, disappointing in reality.

If Hawaiian Time ever fixed their service — answered their phone, opened up real online ordering, and made it easy to place an order — they’d be unstoppable. Until then, it’s a restaurant that leaves you hungry in more ways than one.

I regularly leave honest reviews for restaurants around town to help both diners and owners. This is just my experience, and I hope Hawaiian Time takes it as constructive feedback — because the food deserves better service.
