The butter chicken still wasn’t as good as you’d get at an actual Indian restaurant. Wait staff were very polite and professional and the place does look amazing, it’s such a shame the food feels like it was put out hours ago. So very disappointing.
In a world where cost of living is spiraling, a Buffet of this cost should have been a treat, unfortunately the food quality was a massive let down, and did not equal value for money. I wish I had spent a 3rd of the money on a single dish at a better restaurant.
We actually left about 45min before out alloted time because we weren’t interested in eating anything else.

Langham Hotel riverfront buffet Experience in Melbourne
We visited on a Thursday and it was so busy! The riverfront view was awesome! We were impressed by the selections of food that they offer. The oysters were really fresh. Not to mention the desserts were all so satisfying.
Save this for later
In terms of the food, the selection was broad but somewhat inconsistent in quality. While I appreciated the variety offered, the freshness of the dishes was lacking. The sushi in particular was underwhelming—neither vibrant in flavor nor in texture, and it did not meet the expectations typically associated with a hotel buffet of this caliber.
The Indian cuisine section, while thoughtfully presented, leaned noticeably on the sweeter side and lacked the depth and complexity of spices that traditionally define the cuisine. That said, there were a few standout items—most notably the crispy pork and the grilled chicken. Both were well-prepared, flavorful, and clearly a step above the rest of the offerings. Unfortunately, the remainder of the menu felt fairly average, with many dishes lacking the distinctiveness or freshness one would hope for in a premium buffet.
Price-wise, I found the buffet to be on the higher end, which would have been acceptable had the overall quality of the food aligned more closely with the cost. Given the experience, it did not feel like particularly good value for money.
In summary, while the buffet wasn’t a complete disappointment and there were a few enjoyable elements, it fell short of expectations, especially in terms of food quality and freshness. It might be a reasonable choice for a casual meal, but I would likely look elsewhere for a special occasion or a more memorable dining experience. With some refinement, particularly in food execution and presentation, this buffet could certainly have greater potential.
Staff were inattentive, with minimal engagement throughout the meal. Basic touches such as offering water or coffee at the table were notably lacking, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
A special shout-out to Chef Deo S. Pal, who provided incredible service. The flavors were spot on—he truly outdid himself with the Butter Chicken and Cheese Naan, both of which were out of this world. I 100% recommend this place and will definitely be returning soon!
Top Quality food. Service was excellent and if you have intolerances, they will cater for you. Crazy for a Buffet, but they will.
It’s a little on the $$$ price, especially weekend surcharge, which I think is such an old fashioned thing in today’s society.
Does the pants I buy on a Sunday cost 10% more than on a Monday?
It’s still a great experience and a wonderful environment.
