We had a great meal at Mai Thai in Old Town Alexandria.
We ordered the fried calamari, roasted duck salad, and chicken Pad Thai, and everything came out hot, fresh, and flavorful. The calamari was crispy (not greasy at all), the duck salad was packed with flavor, and the Pad Thai had the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and a little bit of spice.
Our server Bryner was very friendly and attentive, checking on us often without being pushy. The portions were generous for the price, and the atmosphere is cozy – a nice spot to relax and enjoy Thai food right by King Street.
Overall, I would definitely come back to Mai Thai and recommend it to anyone looking for tasty Thai food in Alexandria.

Very nice and cozy Thai restaurant with a glass view out to the port on the upper floor and a small bar. Personally I like the decor of the hanging Naga’s head on the roof

Great food, good experience overall! We ordered curry puffs – they were okay, not great. I ordered a fiber tofu curry and that was really good and my husband got cashew chicken and he loved that.

I met a friend for lunch at Mai Tai and it was such a treat! We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful waterfront views on a perfect day, which made the whole experience even better.
I ordered the Green Curry Chicken, and it was absolutely delightful — rich, aromatic, and with just the right amount of spice to give it a zesty kick without being overwhelming. My friend went with the Chicken with Peanut Sauce, which she really enjoyed as well.

Delicious food and friendly staff. We ordered the chicken pad Thai and the pork pad see ew with the gyoza to start. Everything came out promptly, at the perfect temperature, and so flavorful! Initially we went into another place that was too crowded so we ended up trying Mai Thai, and I’m so glad we did! Indoor and outdoor seating are plentiful and right by the water. Perfect for date night, a meal with friends, or sharing with family. Highly recommended!

Had a birthday celebration here today. Reserved for 20 on a Sunday at 2:30. No issues with the reservation even though half the party was late.
Attentive service. I am not usually a Thai food person but I really enjoyed their Drunken Noodles! The seafood spring rolls were sime of the best I’ve had! I ordered medium spice but was not very spicy so if you like spicy ask for more!

Parking was as expected in the area on a weekend…busy. However there are plenty of garages around and street parking if you are lucky.
If seated near the large windows you will also have a great view of the water. Definitely check them out.

The service is great. There’s seating downstairs as well as upstairs. We definitely prefer upstairs because the view is great – of the water and part of Old Town.
The food is fantastic – really really good. The curry puffs, fried tofu, chicken skewers were starters. All good. The raw papaya salad was one of the best I’ve had. The entrees – we tried pad Thai, beef rice, it was all very delicious tneir desserts too were absolutely yummy – the coconut icecream and the green tea ice cream were quite unique
