10/10. Everything was delicious. The wagyu carpaccio was out of this world. We ordered the black dragon, smoky dragon and volcano roll and all were amazing. This is one of our top favorite sushi spots. Also in cute part of town. Great place for date night!

Everything was exceptional. We ordered the chef’s selection (the Tanbo), and it was perfect for three people—beautifully curated, incredibly fresh, and a great way to experience a wide range of their best cuts. It even included uni, which was a delicious surprise and added to how special the selection felt. Every piece had amazing flavor and texture. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and modern. Dragonfly is always a memorable sushi experience. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I visited for my birthday and it was incredible experience. The service, food, and drinks were all excellent. Our server Jess was so kind, attentive, and genuine. She made my birthday exceptional by surprising us with a candlelight mochi donut dessert. Each dish we ordered for dinner was beautifully crafted. My favorite was the combination dish where they partnered with another local restaurant! All the sushi was so fresh and delicious. Thank you for an amazing evening!

I’ve been to Dragonfly many times and have usually been pleased with my experience. My visit last week inspired me to write a positive review. First, the food is excellent and memorable within and outside of Gainesville. We ordered short rib buns, ramen, several rolls of sushi, and a few other things – everything was delicious. Second, our server Jo was also excellent. She was attentive, professional, and kind including to our 5 year old child. Third, the decor is appealing and it shows that they put a lot into it. The last thing that I will mention detracts from the experience which is their choice and volume of music. We found it to be loud and agitating. It was popular EDM and its effect was that of making me move my body and borderline stressing me out rather than helping me enjoy and digest the meal. I have heard similar feedback from others. I would certainly go back, yet it’s my hope that whom ever is in charge considers curating a more complementary playlist for the otherwise excellent dining experience.
Thank you. We plan on coming back.

Volcano roll was delicious. Our server was great.

Only issue…The hostess asked for our phone number for the table but seated us immediately. 10 minutes later we got a text about our table.

We visited Dragonfly Sushi during FEST and despite the restaurant being absolutely packed we were very impressed by the experience. Nestled in the heart of downtown Gainesville, this place has clearly earned its reputation among the competitive restaurant scene. We snagged seats at the bar, and even with the chaos of a busy music festival weekend the service was impressively fast and efficient. The staff never seemed flustered, and our orders came out quickly without sacrificing quality.

The food itself exceeded all expectations. The sushi rolls were beautifully presented with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the gyoza were perfectly crispy with a flavorful filling. What really impressed us was that the kitchen maintained such excellent standards despite the restaurant being slammed. Too often, busy nights mean compromised quality, but Dragonfly proved they can handle the pressure. If they can deliver this level of food and service during one of the busiest weekends in Gainesville, they’ve more than earned their spot as a downtown favorite.

I seriously got my first roll within 5 minutes. Delicious food, great service, and a nice atmosphere at 9pm on a Wednesday. Busy, but not too busy. Only had to wait 10 minutes as a walk in.

Great food and drinks and awesome service!
Alondra G was amazing and even noticed that we are not from here and wrote a cute “Feliz Domingo” (happy Sunday) on our check!
We had gyozas, sashimi, Miso Ember Steak and to drink Gangster and the Geisha that was great and the Nothin’ but Netsu mocktail that was the reason I would come back many times!

Didn’t realize there was such great sushi in Gainesville! This was absolutely delicious, especially the crispy rice maki roll with spicy tuna on top. Also the specialty roll with sliced mandarin oranges on top was amazing! Great recommendation from our waiter. Had a wonderful time at this lovely place. Absolutely highly recommend. Don’t miss it.

Was really looking forward to dining here because of its good reputations among my friends. First visit and brought my parents to try. Overall good food compromised by straight up disappointing service.

Not a single check-in and absolutely zero “what else can I get you” from our server, despite us watching him walk past our table and hearing him check on next table multiple times.

Our server missed an order of nigiris; when we asked him to check on it, he made a face at the counter and just never got back to us… After realizing that we’re not going to hear back from him on his own volition, had to wave him down to ask again (this is 1 hour after we ordered, and all other dishes were finished). Only then did he say “somebody dropped it on the way, but it’s coming” with absolutely no word of apology. We ended up getting what we ordered, but it left a disappointing taste and we wasted time.

Food wise, the srf wagyu and crab fried rice were pleasant surprises; sea urchin was fresh. Some of our nigiris rice was too loose, hard to dip it with wasabi as it fell apart as soon as I picked up.
