We had an amazing and extremely tasting diner at Il Mannarino in Como.
Reservation is necessary. It’s a busy place because the food is very good!
We had starters and tasty meat! You order the ‘cut’ at the counter, you choose yourself which part you want.
Very well coocked (we prefer medium-rare) and had 4 dirrerent cuts.
Reasonable prices.
Served with baked potatoes, vegetables and Puglia wine.
4 stars for service. The people in the restaurant are very kind. Ordering at the counter is very nice because you can pick the meat yourself. But it creates a bit of dynamics at the table if compared to service/ordering at the table.
Just go there, if you like premium beef!
First, one of the best steaks I’ve had anywhere on earth. I’ve eaten a lot of red meat in this life and Il Mannarino ranks as one of the best places for quality grass-fed meats.
The place itself is casual upon entering which is a nice balance to the actual meal you’ll have. The guys up front – including Luca – are super helpful and easygoing.
Pick the meat you want – lamb, pork, beef, all in a range of forms – and then the size of wine (up to 1L). Then just sit down and get ready for amazing flavor and freshness.
Note: please please get the middollo (bone marrow)…it was outrageously good and comes with a simple, circular tartare. My goodness what taste.
Late into your experience you’ll get a set of three digestifs – limoncello, fennel (not bitter) and one more I forgot. Drank them all: a nice way to (almost end) the meal.
Massive slice of tiramisu was the real ending, barely got a few bites, but quite tasty and light.
The bill was shockingly low for the incredible food quality, particularly the dry aged cut we selected which was – no joke – some of the best value beef I’ve ever tasted.
Will come here every time I return to Como!!

It began at the butchery, where you order all the food. Enzo the butcher who welcomed us had a great knowledge about the verity of meat available to choose from and helped us build the meal we want.
All the dishes were delicious, tasteful and well made.
The service was very good and to complete the experience the atmosphere wad very calm and relaxed.
Then you are seated and things go fast.
The meat was OK – not the best, but that’s probably just because I did not choose other options, but the side dishes were very good.
The restaurant is big, and you can hear anyone who sits next to you.
Bottom line – good option in Como for meat lovers.
