If you want good service do not come here. But…if you like to sit at the bar and wait for 20 min for a drink, or to order food, and another 20 min to get a check this is your place. The atmosphere is great here which is why we came back to try this place again, hoping service had improved but sadly disappointed. The bartenders are more concerned about the dishes and sidework instead of focusing on the customer experience. Nothing like staring at a dishwashing tray put right in front of us blocking our view.

Had a “Meh” experience here.
-Birthday dinner on a Friday night. Called to see if we can make reservations. They said they don’t do that and since we had a part of two we would “Probably be alright”. Well the quoted 10-15 minute wait was 35 minutes.
-We were given menues and ordered food. I wanted Chile rellenos. Apparently they are out of that tonight. Would have been nice to know when we sat down. Asked what the Seasonal Fish Tacos were and were told Tilapia. Waitress didn’t like my comment that they should rename them to All Season Fish Tacos.
-Fopd took a long time. Entire dinner took about an hour and a half.

Have to agree with the other terrible service reviews. Food was good enough. Sat at the bar waited 15 minutes for anyone to come to us. Then another 10 for drinks. The entire time we were there I felt like we were bothering the bartender for even being there.

Hey I get short staffed situations but don’t act like we are bothering you for coming in. Place has great potential but staff definitely needs some attention.

When we arrived the restaurant was half empty and seemed pleasant and clean enough . Food was pretty good, we ordered a variety of different items ranging from tacos , chimis, and rolls tacos. But the service was terrible . I couldn’t tell you who our actual waitress was because we only ever saw a random passer-by that we were able to request service from despite counting at least 10 waitresses roaming the restaurant. It took over 20 minutes to get drinks after we were seated and then another 20 minutes to get the margaritas that were ordered. When our food did finally come we had missing items and items that were made wrong but overall the food was good. When consulting with the guy who brought out our food though in regards to some tacos that were ordered and made incorrectly he just stared at me blankly , I finally shortened my needs to just ask for cabbage to place on the tacos that I received , and he said ok and walked off. It took another 10 minutes to get the cabbage which in turn left my food cold. Didn’t get drink refills without flagging someone down and asking for them. To top off the terrible service , we had a very rude man sitting behind us on a personal phone call talking so loud that it overpowered our dinner conversation. Food is definitely doordashable but wouldn’t go there again to sit down and eat.

Ate here for lunch and it was decent. The atmosphere was very clean and family friendly. The service was great and the chips and salsa are great. We ordered the Sonoran Enchilada trio with chicken, shredded beef and a cheese enchilada. We also ordered the asada fries.
Someone could absolutely love the food and I wouldn’t say they’re wrong but I thought it was pretty basic.

Came in was very busy for a Tuesday night but cleared out pretty quick by the time I left. Food was good and price was right as well. For the service sat at the bar took a while to get drinks and order our food and the bar wasn’t even full something you need to work on. But we had a good visit besides that.

This place has definitely lost its ways. I went here a year ago and it was amazing great customer service BUT NOW IM NEVER GOING AGAIN. the waitress had mad attitude. The rice was undercooked and my 19$ tacos look like filibertos.. we had to wait 20 minutes just to ask for a refill of water I ended up just going to the car and getting one because the waitress was too bust hitting her vape in the bathroom for 15 minutes. They would come set random drinks on our table AND WALK AWAY?! We had too guess what the drinks where because they didn’t say one single thing and avoided talking to us. They made my husbands grandmother pass out all the drinks!!! Not to mention we had a bunch of empty cups and plates all over the crowded table and they refused to even ask to grab any. I was upset to know that my father in law tipped them because they do not deserve a dime for the horrible service we received. For a 200$ meal it was horrible.

Macayo’s was the setting for our family’s first gathering in the new year. The menu provided visually appealing, fresh and delicious Mexican food, with selections for every family member. The tamale poppers proved to be a delightful appetizer, sweet and spicy. The young server was attentive and helpful with suggestions for food and drink selections. There was a welcoming atmosphere for the family members. The only issue was the air conditioning chilling a few of us on the 65° Arizona winter day. It proved to be a sweater-weather day.

My wife and I have always considered Macayo’s to be one of our favorite restaurants around however on October 31st (at 6:09pm to be exact) we stopped into the Queen Creek restaurant on our way home. We stood waiting to be seated for nearly 5 minutes with no employees other than the bartender to be seen. I finally went to use the restroom and when I returned my wife was still standing there waiting and informed me that the bartender made eye contact with her several times but just ignored her. As I went to ask if we are supposed to seat ourselves another couple walked in behind us. The bartender quickly seated us in chairs after we had asked for a booth but were told none were available. As we sat down I noticed a booth almost next to us that was just cleared. Suddenly a girl walks out of the back room and seats the couple who walked in after us in the booth that we had requested. We blew it off but then sat there almost another 5 minutes with zero service. Usually chips and salsa are brought to the table almost as soon as you sit down but nothing. Then we noticed the couple who were seated after us received chips and salsa and was placing their order. We were completely ignored so we left and went to Moreno’s instead and got excellent service there. (Keep in mind it was Halloween night and the restaurant wasn’t very busy either). Such a disappointment and not sure if we will ever be back or not. Serrano’s is still close by at least too

My sister and I were looking forward to a nice night out since I was visiting from out of state. We decided to try here tonight because we wanted a good margarita. The selection was the best compared to other menus we looked at.
We were greeted nicely and seated within a reasonable time. Once we were seated it all went downhill. Honestly, our experience was horrible because of the customer service experience we received from the server.

She was very short with her responses and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. She barely engaged with us. We ordered a margarita flight. Never once asked how they were, if we had a favorite, and if we wanted to order a margarita for ourselves. We also wanted to get dessert (since we had dinner with family earlier)

She walked by to say the dessert would be out soon and still didn’t ask us if we wanted anything else. The dessert took almost 30 minutes to come out and by then we decided it was best to get our food to go and ask for the check. When our food did come out I asked for it to be boxed and our server brought it out and asked if we wanted a bag. We said no just the check. Told us the amount (didn’t even get a receipt) gave her cash and that was it.

Being in the restaurant industry myself this is an embarrassment. Help is very hard to find. But I would rather see someone working hard to make sure customers are happy and make the restaurant more money.

We didn’t spend as much as we had planned and wanted to get out as soon as we could.

I don’t have a name.
But servers are the face of your business. That isn’t the kind of person I would want working for me.
