Wow. We went all over town asking people where the best place to eat is in town and they all said the Saltwater and they were not wrong! Our server was Willow and they were awesome and so attentive. They made great suggestions and every dish was delicious!

I first discovered this place 2 plus years ago while visiting a friend on the island. It’s been all that time and my mouth still waters for their salmon bites. This time I was solo so I sat up at the bar. The gal working was nice. The people next to me were fantastic! Warm, friendly and with delicious delights. I went all out this time. I ordered a bloody Mary served with an oyster and shrimp. The salmon bits to feed my long for craving. 6 oysters and the fish and chips. I had to top it off with a coffee cocktail and brownie ice cream dessert. Yum!! Stuffed myself full of freshly prepared seafood, drinks and great conversation.
My friend has moved away from Whidby Island, but I still plan on going back. I definitely plan on always eating at the Saltwater Fish House when I do!

My wife and I visited the Saltwater Fish House while we were visiting Whidbey Island during Thanksgiving week and it was amazing. One of the things I looked forward to eating while we were in the Pacific Northwest was fresh oysters, crab, and clams. The oysters I ordered were HUGE! They were all harvested locally, so they were super fresh. They were also very clean without any shell you sometimes get with oysters on a half shell. The crab cakes were also amazing! I highly recommend stopping by the Saltwater Fish House on your next visit to Whidbey Island.

We had the clam chowder, lobster roll (Connecticut style!) and halibut & chips. Everything was delicious and service was attentive, quick and kind. The space is cozy and cute, not very big. Luckily we arrived in the early evening before the big dinner rush so we didn’t have to wait for a table, and the place just kept getting busier and busier. We enjoyed our date night here and would love to come back again to try more of their seafood. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience. Despite being busy the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This was a great way to round off our first trip to Whidbey. We will be back for sure. The Texas toast for the Lobster Roll was to die for. Also get the cobbler.

We visited Saltwater Oyster House the day before Mother’s Day to beat the crowds, knowing they don’t take reservations. We arrived around 3:55 p.m., put our name in, and were told the wait would be about an hour. With time to spare, we explored the charming town of Langley—popping into quaint shops, local bookstores, and even admiring the nearby shoreline. The glassblowing shop was a highlight and helped the time pass quickly.

Though the wait ended up being a bit longer than expected, it only built up our appetite—and we definitely ordered more than we could eat! Everything was fantastic. The crab cakes were among the best we’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful inside. The Connecticut-style lobster roll was authentic and absolutely worth the price. As expected at an oyster house, I had to try a couple oysters, and they were fresh and delicious.

The fish and chips were also excellent—the batter perfectly crisp, and the tartar sauce complemented it beautifully.

Our server (with pink hair!) was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly a local favorite, as several guests greeted them by name. They not only walked us through the menu but also gave us great recommendations for local things to see.

If you’re planning to visit, drop your name in and take a walk around Langley while you wait—there’s plenty to see and do. And when you return, you’ll be in for a truly memorable meal. Don’t forget to let the server with pink hair know they’re doing a fantastic job!

The dungness crab cakes were amazing and the Penn Cove mussels came with so many. I ordered the blood mary, which the oyster and jumbo shrimp were so fresh and only added to it. My husband sipped on a peach cider and liked it. Will definitely be back and will gladly wait again for delicious food.

Very cute and fun. Place to go eat whether you have someone with you or you’re alone. Nice eating options. A service was exceptional. I had the red pepper soup with gruyere and chorizo and I also had the fish and chips. All were excellent, hot and fresh. Everyone was friendly. Just a cute fun little place
