Place was great, my waiter was hilarious and very lively! He had a pocket full of jokes and shenanigans. I ordered the huevos rancheros with a side of carnitas (the side was huge) it was cooked to perfection, the right charing, super tender and juicy. We had a huge crowd of at least 30 people, including kids, after a family funeral. But, even with this many people, the service was amazing, and the orders came out correct as far as I know. The food and drinks are always spot on! Tell ’em Wade sent you.

Lived in Carthage 24 years ago and stop at this place every time we travel from Dallas to Missouri. It is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Usually share the chicken fajitas with my wife. Today we ordered lunch fajitas, 2 tacos a la cart and one chicken enchilada. FANTASTIC! I really like the chips and hot sauce. We always add white cheese dip. We call the owner Papi since we started going right after our daughter was born. He is still there and asked, “Where are the kids?” They’re grown and moved out.

I ate here with my daughter and her two girls, aged 2 and 4.
The server was patient with the small girls (thank you).
All of our food was good. Mainstream fare. Enchiladas, tacos, and so on.
The unexpected highlight of our meal was the awesome guacamole. Perhaps the best guac. I have eaten and I came from the North Mexican state of Texas.
The table service was great even though we ordered no alcohol ( I am a reformed alcoholic).
Prices were reasonable.
Great food, good service, pleasant atmosphere, and fair prices = five stars.
