Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the host at the front, sat promptly, and he even brought me a beverage prior to me even getting situated in my seat!
My server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He gave me good menu recommendations, and was patient with me when I was taking a minute to figure out what to get besides my usual order. It also helped that no one else was in the restaurant at the time (it was about 11:15am ish), lol! 🙂
I ended up ordering the recommended Triple Threat Chicken Burger for lunch. It came to the table hot, fresh, and the presentation was very well done…chef’s kiss, as they say!
The burger was tasty and filling. I am excited to have the second half for dinner tonight! The fries are always my favorite…can’t get enough, even when I know that I should!
The only little thing that I would ask for next time is to please bring the check earlier for those of us there on a lunch break. I can appreciate that the server has relationships with other guests and wants to chit chat…that’s all well and good, but I do think I was waiting for my check about 10 minutes longer than I would prefer.
Other than that, everything was great!
Family Friendly: Yes (they have 21+ bar area and regular dining)
Parking: Yes
Pet Friendly: No
FOOD:
1. Triple Threat Crispy Chicken Sandwich (Cajun fried chicken breast, chipotle mayo, pepperjack cheese, frizzled onion, BLT) $17.75: 4 Stars – Great crunch, good flavor, and good balance of salt! I know that weird to say but I feel like so many restaurant oversalt there food nowadays. Definitely a reorder!
2. Deluxe Burger (American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion, and H&D spread) $15.75: 3 Stars – Standard burger so nothing that stood out over other restaurants but I will say they didn’t skimp on the size just because it’s a “standard” burger.
3. Jalapeno Burger (Cajun seasoned patty with chipotle mayo, grilled jalapeno, pepperjack cheese, BLT) $17.75: 4 Star – Great taste but would have loved more heat, mayo to the mayo as it only came from the jalapeno. Very juicy but didn’t make the buns wet. Will reorder again!
4. Kids meal cheeseburger (apple juice and fruits) $7.95: My 1 year old like it so I guess that’s saying something but he does tend to eat everything LOL I did like the size of it as they didn’t give me something that looked like a slider.
5. Burger sides that are included: fries, totes, or their house made potato chips – tried all three and all really yummy! Their fries are like the Mox Boarding house fries which I LOVE – has a coating that fries up super crispy. The totes are standard so I wouldn’t be surprise if they weren’t out of a bag but still good. Their house-made potato chips are really good – they did the thickness exactly right and not oily at all! I would love it they did flavor seasoning on them but that would be just a bonus!
DRINK:
Real Fruit Long Island Ice Teas $8.95 on HH: We got there at the tail end of HH so it was great being able to try a cocktail. A couple of us got the mango and it was on point. Good hand on the liquor but the mango disguised the taste which was great!
RESTAURANT / MENU:
The restaurant is better than it looks from the outside! There is a full bar and 21+ only area when you first walk in. There is “regular” dining that has enough table for large groups if needed. I originally thought this place as a burger joint but they have a lot of different options. It reminded me a little of a mini BJ restaurant where there is something for everyone – apps, mac and cheese, burgers, sandwiches, soup, salads, etc.
SERVICE:
When went a little bit before HH ended so I was surprise there wasn’t a lot more folks dining. There was a couple of servers but maybe due to the foot traffic they didn’t need more. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. The only thing I could probably think of to nit-pick at is the time it took to get the food but its more that we were all really hungry and it might have seem longer than we wanted LOL
There is a lot of parking and everything is level so even wheel chair accessible.
I have been here for lunch during the week, happy hour on weekday and dinner on weekends! Awesome spot!
Don’t miss out on this hidden gem
There’s about four disabled parking spots along with three to-go order spots, then about a dozen other spots out front.
Right when you walk in, you can immediately see the huge selection of draft beers, which is pretty impressive. On top of that all four draft towers are covered in ice. At first I wasn’t sure if that was a mistake, but later on when the drinks arrived, I’m guessing not. Someone may like, and know what to do with ice 🙂
Aside from the draft towers, there’s also a full bar with just about any alcohol needed to make the drink of your choice.
I’d guess the restaurant’s split with half being the bar area, which is enclosed with a short wall, and the other half being non-bar seating. Both sections have booth and table seating, however, the bar area’s seating is raised to bar height.
With all the draft towers, my draft of choice was a Silver City Ridgetop Red and a Hellbent Brewing Company Hazer Eye Surgery Hazy IPA. Also ordered was a Lemon Drop flavored Icy Drop, which was served in a glass made of ice! See, this is why I think the ice on the draft towers were not an accident [wink wink].
For food, went with the Alaskan cod fish & chips which was really good, and the smoked pork rib tips.
Lastly, even though the restaurant was short staffed, everyone did a great job helping each other out. The drinks and food came out with very little wait and to order.
Well done!
The mozza sticks were absolute top-notch, as were the onion rings. The golden (slightly seasoned) fries were well made as were the taste tots (which were superior). The bleu cheese burger was definitely worthy as were the pork rib tips. Hell, even the chicken strips were some of the best ever.
Their icy drop adult beverages are some of the most unique I’ve ever had and served in that cone of ice along with the small shaker that left me with no complaints.
