Fabulous selection of food. All dishes are plentiful and very tasty .. it can be a struggle to finish some of these dishes, so beware. Service is excellent, our server helped with the menu, made recommendations, especially on the portion size, and tried to get us to fit in desert. Lots of great beers and drinks, pretty much spoiled for choice. The restaurant was very busy, it was a Sunday evening, so best to book in advance. Its very easy to get to, were stayed in a hotel round the corner as we were golfing, just a great end to the day when you need food and your tired. Great restaurant, we will be back…. Not just for the drumstick lollipop ..

Nice restaurant in Montrose. When visiting family here, we decided to have a meal here. Is very nice place. Plenty of stairs to get up yo the restaurant, I don’t believe I saw a lift so it’s not accessible for some. The theming was consistent throughout of being down under. Menu had a great selection and something for everyone. I would say the prices are slightly on the higher side. However they goof quality was pretty decent. The chicken with mushroom pasta. Was a bit too ‘mushroomy’. I would come back here again.

For starters we had 12 buffalo chicken wings. They are incredible, and just the right spicyness. We had 1 each of the blue cheese and ranch dips which perfectly complimented the wings.

I had the ribeye steak, with creamy pepper sauce and fries. It was all fantastic. The pepper sauce was the best version of a pepper sauce I have had. Again, it was the perfect accompaniment to the steak.

My wife had a salad and said it was also very good.

Great restaurant.
Randomly came across roos leap when passing through and so glad we did.
Great food/lots of choice. Great quality.
Fab, friendly serving staff.
Disappointed by lack of disabled access however. I struggle with stairs and would always use the lift. I was not aware of this on booking.

Went to Roo’s the evening before heading home after a short break and wow! It didn’t disappoint.
The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the atmosphere was great and service was fantastic. Timing inbetween courses was really good, didn’t feel rushed at all. The food quality was pure perfection. All 3 of us had clean plates with the exception of a few chips or a bit of burger bun.
Highly recommend

I’ve been to Roo’s Leap several times as I’m a resident of Montrose. As a vegan, every time I have been I’ve felt it is quite overpriced and the quality of my food has been poor compared to the meat eaters I am dining with, but today really confirmed it. I went for lunch with my partner and we ordered two mains; he ordered some kind of buffalo chicken burger/sandwich and I ordered the bean burger.

We waited around 40 minutes for it to arrive and when it did, my bean burger was inedible. It was completely dry and solid on the outside yet seemed undercooked on the inside. I don’t actually know why it was served as you could see just from looking at it that it was a mess. It didn’t help that my burger bun had a big chunk missing out of it! I didn’t eat it and explained why and it was thankfully taken off our bill without us having to ask.

In fairness, the young FOH staff are excellent. They are friendly and attentive and really top notch. Unfortunately this won’t be enough to encourage us back. For the frankly ridiculous prices charged (and that’s not even considering the crazy cost of a glass of wine), I don’t expect to be served something below standard just because I don’t eat meat. I’ll be sticking to The Traill Pavilion for vegan lunches and, as for dinner, it’ll pub grub from here on out (cheap, fast and you know what to expect).

Very much enjoyed my visit here. A good menu with some excellent options and making them to our requirements was no problem at all. All of the staff were attentive and the venue was very clean and tidy. The food was well cooked and good value for money with the burgers in particular being filling. We shared the chicken wings to start which were delicious. For an early week visit, it was very busy, which I suppose is testament to just how good it is!

Tasty food here, Australian style since it is Roo’s leap, but there are plenty international selection as well. The bbq ribs are superb. Small bites are tasty too. The food and drink are price just nice too. Usually crowded so do book or try your luck.

Very tasty food, with friendly service.

I loved it. The food was a nice fusion of spices (not too hot), but kept the tastebuds tingling.

All of the staff, quite young were incredibly friendly, professional and slick. A credit to the team.

Good vegetarian options as well.

I’d certainly return or recommend.
