This place has everything and then some. I had never ever heard of huaraches or machetes. I had the latter and it was delicious. The decor is super fun too. The salsa bar was perfect. I don’t think I’ve seen a better looking salsa bar. I love that they have a machine so you can order yourself. It’s so much faster and easier. I can’t wait to bring other people here.

My husband got an assortment of tacos and I went with a torta. I really should have taken pictures because my torta was huge. The bread was fluffy and fresh. I watched the cook cut open and scoop avocado directly onto my torta. Usually we try bites of each other’s food but I refused to share. My husband’s tacos LOOKED good though, also very fresh, sturdy (a well made corn tortilla base). He really liked his and thought they were excellent.

I just don’t know what had happened. The food here user to taste like good Mexican street food but now it’s absolutely bland , totally lacking in flavor. This is based off of 4 visits in the last 9 months. When this chain opened, all of the food was flavorful, maybe for Mass Market appeal they changed all their recipes. Definitely not for the better.

It’s our go to place for tacos and plantas! It’s the only taco place like it. Plus they have a salsa and spicy relish bar, all my favorite drinks, and flan. Sometimes it is hard to choose between the machete, the birria, the shrimp volcano, and carne tacos and that’s the only bad side – having to choose. Love you guys!

1st time in. Can see why this place is popular. Very clean; we were greeted by multiple friendly staff. We received our food right away. Staff ensured tables were being cleaned off and were paying attention to the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was delicious! Will definitely be back.

The Mega Birria is a game changer!
If you are anywhere near Oakdale, you have to stop at Taco Libre. I came specifically for the Mega Birria (Megabirria) and it did not disappoint. It is absolutely massive—literally 1/2 lb of meat in a huge tortilla—and the flavor is incredible. The consommé for dipping is rich and perfect. Easily the best thing on the menu. 10/10, highly recommend!
