What can I say, if you happen to be a picky eater like me, then you know how stressful it can get trying out new places. More often than not, your food doesn’t get prepared to your specifications and that alone can turn your dining experience to an unpleasant one.
That has not been the case at Hot off The Griddle. I would say that I have eaten here about 7 or 8 times in the past 2 years ever since my brother-in-law first invited my husband and I to this place. It quickly became our hangout to have breakfast together and catch up on each other’s lives.
From the first time we came to this place up until recently, we have been fortunate enough to be helped by the same server. Her name is Bridget and it goes without saying that the reason why I’m even writing this review is because of her. She is extremely friendly with an upbeat personality. From day one, she got my order exactly how I wanted it and to those picky eaters like myself, you know what an amazing feeling that is. Whenever I go out to eat breakfast at Hot Off The Griddle, I am there stress free looking forward to eating my breakfast burrito knowing that it’s going to be prepared just the way I want it.
What makes the experience even better is how Bridget remembers her customers so well. As soon as she approaches our table she already knows that I’m going to be ordering my burrito and automatically recalls the specifications. That is such a great feeling because she makes you feel seen and heard and while other places sometimes make you feel like you are being such a pain in the rear end because you are customizing your meal, Bridget really makes you feel that your meal prepared the way you want it. is important.
Putting the service aside, the dining room is not big but not too small either. The clientele is very diverse which is great. So far, every time we’ve been here the upkeep of the dining room is very clean.
When it comes to the menu, the food is delicious and spot on. Most importantly, the portions are very generous. To be honest, we always order the same thing. Not because there’s a lack of options, but because when we find something we love, we tend to stick with that for quite awhile, but definitely looking forward to trying something new from the menu in the near future.
If you want my personal recommendation, I would say try the Loaded Breakfast Burrito ( Bacon, sausage, ham, scrambled egg, cheddar cheese and potatoes smothered in homemade bacon and sausage gravy. ) which is currently what I order every single time. My husband always orders the Hangover Burito ( Chorizo, refried beans, potatoes, eggs, cheddar and jack cheese topped with fire roasted salsa and sour cream ). My brother’in-law usually tries a different omelet every time. The most recent being H.O.T.G. Omelet

Like most people, whenever we wanted to eat out for breakfast, we tend to always go to either IHOP or Denny’s, but to be quite honest, eating at those two places is not as enjoyable as it used to be and the wait time is always ridiculous.
So if you are ready for something different and you want a stress-free experience, Hot off The Griddle should be on your must try list. The food is great, the ambiance is relaxing, the wait time is decent and the service is phenomenal. For me personally….knowing that I’m going to have my food prepared just the way I want it makes all the difference in the world. I truly hope that your experience is as great as ours.

Great experience. Excellent food with large portions. Expect a to go box. My server was on it, and checked in frequently. For breakfast it’s hard to go wrong, outstanding. They serve breakfast and lunch. Definitely worth checking out!

I’m delighted we chose to dine here. The food was truly delicious. The corned beef hash was a bit chunkier than I expected, so I chopped it into smaller pieces, but the menu did mention it would be chunkier than usual. Regardless, it was delightful. My husband also enjoyed his meal, finding it equally delicious. He sampled their mimosa, which he described as tasty. We would definitely return if we’re in the area again.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious! 2-3 plates could have fed our family of 5! My son and I split the XL Chicken fried steak witj eggs, potatoes, and pancakes. My husband ordered the Cajun omelet, our oldest ordered the all meat omelet, and our daughter ordered the club sandwich with a side salad. Everything was delicious with great portion sizes! Will definitely return when we’re in the area!

I LOVED IT! WOW, breakfast done right. I had the XL chicken fried steak and could only eat half of it! The restaurant had a fast casual feel to it, down to earth with good spacing on all the tables. The front of the place was all windows so it allowed light into the restaurant. But… The best part… wait for it…. The Food!! OMG the food is 100% legit. I absolutely loved the food. It was hot and fresh. I was so surprised at the quality of the food! My waitress this morning was fast and friendly. She explained to the Mimosa flavors. Yes…over 30flavors of Mimosas. They actually have a single page double sided dedicated to fun Mimosa flavors!!! I Loved it! Did I mention how awesome my waitress was!! Wow, what great l, friendly service! The only down side to this place is the dated men’s restroom. It is definitely in need of an update and a little love. Don’t get me wrong it was clean and stocked but definitely not the focus of this restaurant. I am going to add this place into my top 10 breakfast restaurants for sure. Definitely a most visit for the greater Sacramento Area. Tell them John the Nurse sent you!!!,

Looking for a friendly and amazing place with GREAT breakfast food…look no more! We were welcomed with big smiles and a friendly staff. Heather went above and beyond from start to end. Extremely nice and upbeat. Food came out fast and the taste was amazing not to mention great portion sizes. Place is spacious and clean. Will be visiting often!

I had breakfast here for the first time today, and it was such a good experience! The food was delicious and this is definitely going to be our new breakfast spot. My husband got the biscuits and gravy, I got the Cajun omelette and my toddler got the chocolate chip pancakes. All of the food was 10/10, but what was even better than the food was the service! Several welcomed and interacted with us, not just our server. You can tell they all genuinely care about their customer’s experience. I unfortunately didn’t get pictures of all of the food, but here’s a picture of my toddler with his chocolate chip pancakes.

Nice friendly mom & pop vibe breakfast restaurant. The place is bright & open. Came during morning time. It wasn’t busy yet until we sat down. Our waiter was friendly & our order came out really quickly. Love their crispy pancakes. Way better than any pancakes I ever ate & made. It’s definitely better than ihop pancakes. For sure, we will come back to try other items.
