Do not go here!! Last time I got a bean burrito. It was very thin because the beans were so runny. I decided to try one more time. Today I got the cheese quesadilla. It was very thin also. Almost no cheese in it. I told the manager and he thought it was funny. I told him I am never coming back. You should avoid this place like the plague.

We ordered a combo 3, and a supreme nacho. The nacho has ONE half of a sliced tomato, and is pretty much just cheese flavored water we requested green sauce on the enchilada and only rice. When we picked up the order, my wife asked where the rice was ( AS THE PICTURE SHOWS RICE AND BEANS) she voiced that for 15$, that doesn’t seem right, and was told she could pay for it or leave. She told them it seems wrong to advertise a picture of something if that’s not what you get and paid for the rice. When we got home, the enchilada is cold (we literally live 1.5 minutes away), the taco shell was stale and there was no green sauce to found. This was a $45 dinner and I’ve gotten better service from the kid at Taco Bell making 7$ an hour. We come in here all the time. That will not be happening again.

Chips are thick and crunchy.
Regular salsa taste bland. The spicy has great flavor and a kick to it.
Tacos were big and filled!!!
Burrito looked good that a friend had. Rice was well done.
Quesadilla looked big and delicious!
They serve bottled coke here too.

So….I LOVE Mexican food so much! I would eat it everyday if I could. I finally decided to try El Maguey in Raytown on Monday. The atmosphere was dull and drab. The lighting was low. I overlooked all of that because it’s all about the food, right?

I ordered the steak chimichanga combo meal- one of my favorite dishes.
It came with beans, rice, lettuce, sour cream and Guacamole on the side. The chimichanga was covered in a thick white cheese sauce. It was about two bites more than half of a regular sized chimichanga and was served in a foil pan along with the rice and beans. Why? All the cheese sauce blended into the rice and beans making the chimichanga naked. It also was not crispy like it should have been and had absolutely NO FLAVOR at all. Neither did the rice and beans. It was like eating a mouth full of slop. The steak was very chewy in an unpleasant way and the guacamole was definitely not fresh. It had a funny taste and was a very dark green. The chips were undercooked and the salsa was below average. This definitely tasted like struggle food to me- as in, it was a struggle for them to prepare this “meal.”
It was absolutely positively not worth even half of the $19 they charged me.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT AND DO NOT INTEND TO EVER GO BACK!

Their food is always really good!! The bean dip is THE bomb!!! Their chicken fajitas are great!! I’ve noticed they’ve changed their chips for the better, they’re alot thinner and tastier now!! The food is very good but the salsa needs some help, it tastes like the only ingredient is crushed tomatoes, from my opinion I think it would be much improved if cilantro, mild jalapeno and maybe some lime were added. The service is always friendly and quick!! They have a small parking lot but there is parking in a lot right next to the restaurant, check with the restaurant first to make sure it is ok to park there. I would try it, I think you’ll find that you really like it!!

I enjoyed my chimichanga, and all the accoutrement around it was fresh and delicious. My girlfriend and I tried the banana margherita and the strawberry margherita; neither of us were disappointed. The service is polite and quick, and the dining area is clean.

The best thing is my food came out super fast. The service towards the end was slow. Food was good. Also most dishes do not come with rice and beans. You will have to order that separately

The cheese dip sauce was runny like water the burritos taste extremely strange. I don’t know what type of meat they put in it, but it did not taste right in. It smelled horrible. Had to throw the whole order away a waste of $39.

Been coming here for several years and just recently went after not having been for a while. Food was good- my quesadillas were crispy and not soggy like some places, and my Dad’s enchiladas were tasty too. I ordered a side of rice and got a pretty good sized plate of it. The queso was kinda watery though. My mango margarita was good too. Service was guick and our server was really nice and attentive. Really my biggest quirk is the new seating! I loved the old seating/booths they had. The new ones aren’t as comfortable or homey.

#ElMagueyMexicanRestaurant was a great find after a very long drive. We found it close to our hotel. The restaurant happened to be busy, a good sign, but we were seated right away. The menu is substantial many choices to consider, but in the end The Restaurant had the Mexican dish I was craving. #PolloEnCrema chicken with a cream sauce. This one had something new, besides the mushrooms, green peppers and onions it had #broccoli yes, Not what you think as Mexican food ingredient, But it totally worked with the dish. They grill the veg and chicken which made the dish richer. The dish also came with Mexican rice, lettuce, and pico de gallo. I ordered a jumbo #margarita and enjoyed it very much. Buzzing. My husband ordered the #CaldoDePollo
Chicken soup with chunks of chicken, rice, pico de gallo, tortillas. It was yummy. He enjoyed it and so did I. The soup was very comforting. In typical Mexican restaurant expectation the restaurant had complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were warm from being recently fried. The #salsa was mild but it allowed you to add heat from a bottle of #habaneroSauce I was so glad to find El Maguey Mexican Restaurant we found the place easily and they had great food and friendly service. I would visit again when in town. #kansasCity #RayTown
