Came in for a special brunch with my daughter and left so happy that we did. The food was perfect. She had the Bacon Waffles and I ventured into something new with the French Baked Black Forest Ham Eggs. (Those eggs are now may favorite way to have eggs…baked in a ramekin filled with savory black forest ham and cream. And the toast was perfect for soaking up that amazing cream.) Our server was so sweet and checked in several times to make sure we were doing well. The iced mocha were on point, pairing perfectly with our brunch choices. We walked out with several additional pastries for the next day as well. It’s pretty busy on Sundays, and a bit loud, but still a great stop.

Absolutely delicious. The croissants are amazing, the petit fours were delicious and the crepes which was spinach and mushroom and I added some eggs was absolutely delicious. I didn’t get pictures of everything but I will definitely do that next time. Everything was so fresh and delicious

Stopped here for a quick lunch and it was delicious! Food was fresh and the service was quick. We ordered the goulash, the tomato soup comfort meal, and the Monte Cristo. Everything arrived hot and tasted pretty good! The roll that came with the goulash was perfect and the grilled cheese sandwich that came with the tomato soup was excellent…just the right mix of toasted and soft. Both soup meals came with a cookie which was kind of terrible honestly. For a bakerynto have such a flavorless chocolate chip cookie was a little disappointing.
Also ordered two cake slices from the bakery, a coconut cake and German chocolate cake. The cake tasted fresh, but the coconut cake was on the bland side. The German chocolate cake was really good, we thought we detected a hint of rum (maybe?) that really made the cake stand out. Outside of being a little confused about how the seating/ordering worked, the staff was quyik and very friendly. I would absolutely stop here again (would not get the chocolate chip cookie though).

Josef’s feels like an East Coast type of diner. Full menu with lots of options, family run and not a chain. The bakery front welcomes you – Mae sure to save room for dessert or bring some home. My family is big fans of their omelettes and waffles- love the mini scone that comes with. It’s the perfect cozy spot for breakfast or lunch. One of those locals spots that’s good to bring friends or family visiting from out of town.
My only suggestion would be stronger coffee but if that’s all I can come up with- it’s pretty darn good.

The food was good. We did have to wait a while for the bill to come back but it was kind of busy in there. Overall everything was good.

Josef’s never disappoints. Found this local Reno eatery many years ago and it’s my go to everytime we take a trip there. I’ve recommended Josef’s to every person that mentions a trip to Reno to me and they to end up becoming repeat visitors. Food never disappoints…always fresh and locally sourced. Next time you are in Reno, especially if you are staying at the Peppermill or Atlantis, skip the casino breakfast/brunch buffet and head over to Josef’s. You won’t be sorry

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Josef’s Vienna Bakery & Cafe, and let me tell you, it was an absolutely perfect experience. This place truly is a hidden gem!!!
From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Their customer service skills go above and beyond. The employees were friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home, which set the tone for the entire visit.
As for the food -WOW! Everything was simply delicious. The cakes were fresh, light, and absolutely scrumptious, with just the right amount of sweetness. You could tell they were made with care and high quality ingredients. The breakfast was equally impressive: tasty, satisfying, and not at all greasy. It felt wholesome, and I left feeling full but not heavy.
Overall, I highly recommend Josef’s Vienna Bakery & Cafe to anyone looking for a cozy spot with incredible food and exceptional service. I will definitely be coming back again! If you’re in the area, don’t miss this place, it’s an experience you won’t regret.

This is a classic neighborhood gem. From the minute you walk in the door you feel the “euro cafe” vibe. Exquisite pastries and cakes greet you and the cafe is warm and welcoming.
We were here on a Saturday morning and could be seated right away, although I imagine there may be a wait sometimes. Parking was easy and close.
The coffee and chai latte were great and served beautifully and the breakfast was fantastic. I enjoyed the baked eggs, highly recommend!

I was hopeful this would be really good and it was overall a disappointment. Maybe we just went on the wrong day. The service was slow. Our lattes were delivered to the wrong table and needed to be remade. Took about 20 minutes to get them and they came with our weinerschnitzel – not an ideal combo. The latte was mostly milk lacking rich coffee flavor. The weinerschnitzel was some of the worst I’ve had to be honest. It had zero flavor as did the mixed veg. The steamed veg and spaetzel were cold! The waitress brought us a little side of gravy and that helped. The berry crepes were unremarkable. All the food looks beautiful. Everything people were eating looked delicious. Overall, this was slow, flavorless, and a bit pricey. I had wanted some pastries, but I didn’t get any because I was discouraged that they may not taste good. I love European food and have been to Europe several times – this was not a good representation today.
