Beautiful place to eat tamales!
I ordered salsa roja pork. love the meat and it is so tasty! I think it would be better to eat tamales with rice. their rice and the green sauce are sooo delicious!
The staff is really friendly even noticed me when I spilled the sauce into my scarf and the staff brought me the wet and dry towel. so kind!

Casual, convivial and delicious! Great place for vegetarians and vegans. I was intrigued when I kept driving by Frelard and seeing the TAMALES sign. I finally popped in and it was soul satisfying. Excellent service… You prop a flag up on your table when you’re ready to order.
I had the bean and cheese tamale with an excellent guacamole. I also had the vegan horchata… It was not over sweet, really smooth. I loved it. There’s a list of regular tamale flavors and they offer rotating flavors as well. I want to t try their mushroom tamale and their tacos.
They also have a big list of beers because they’re also a brewery.
Only downside: parking is wretched here.

Frelard Tamales is the best! We’ve been enjoying their tamales since their Green Lake days and love the new location in Fremont. The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The portions are generous and we always leave with a full belly. The chicken tamale is my absolute favorite.

After a short walk-about in Fremont, I stopped by Frelard Tamales for a quick dinner. I have been intrigued by the restaurant as there are always many people lined up at the walk-up window. On this visit I chose to sit inside the bright and open restaurant. I ordered the fajita veggies tamale plate with sides rice and beans. The tamale was filled with black beans, and sautéed bell peppers, corn and onion. The plate was delicious and the service was good.

The restaurant is super spacious and well lit from all of the windows. There’s nice music playing in the background and tons of seating.
The staff is pretty quick to get your food in. The rice and beans are delicious. I ordered the Sweet potato mole. Their masa ratios are perfect. The tamal wasn’t dry or lacking filling. My only critique was of the filling. I couldn’t taste the Mole at all because the sweet potato flavor was so strong. I think a regular potato could be delicious and really let the mole shine. Definitely a nice spot to eat and hangout!

Phenomenal spot for tamales, drinks, and good times. The place is very chic with an incredible drink selection. This isn’t a food truck or a hole in the wall. It’s date night worthy. The tamales are out of the world. Vegetarians have a few options. The jalapeno and cheese tamale was out of the world. Whatever you do, make sure you try the flan. It’s og.

For I stopped in for lunch with a friend on my most recent visit, service was quick, it was getting close to 1:00 on a weekday and they were nearly empty. Service was super fast and friendly, they have a good system using the menu position to let the server know if you need something. Something. Food came out quick and hot, the chips were thick and crunchy, and held up to the thick guac well. Tamales were pretty good.

The BEST tamales in town. I’ve been getting my tamales from them for years and I love the brick and mortar location. Really good service and the steamed little packages when unwrapped are delightful. I love the chicken mole. Portions are huge and I can’t finish one. The mole is really balanced with spices and hints of chocolate. It’s not spicy but there’s a hint of spice. The vegetarian option is great and I enjoy how the mole doesn’t overpower the I believe sweet potato. The chile and cheese is really good and the chile gives the right amount of heat in which adding any hot sauce will just accentuate flavor. The cheese is generous and the masa is always firm and moist.
I’ve had almost all of the offerings. What stood out to me was the generosity of the owners. They donated to my kids elementary school for a multicultural night. This speaks volumes to their mission and vision.
Thank you again for your generosity and for making exceptionally good tamales.

We stopped here for quick bites and ordered guacamole and tamales. The chips came with the guacamole were very hard and difficult to chew.
The tamales tasted well but less taste. It would be nice if they could give some hot sources on the side.
The service here is very good, all the servers were very nice and friendly. They also have a very smart order system. So if you put the card standup, it meant you wanted to order, and the server would come to you to take the order. In this case, we don’t need to look out to find where our server is, which is very nice.
