We ordered two pizzas, a calzone, and tiramisu, and everything was honestly amazing. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The calzone was perfectly cooked, the pizzas were spot on, and the tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal. Definitely a 10/10 experience. We’ll for sure be back.

First time being in Kansas, I wanted to try a local pizza joint. Decided on this place. Upon arriving, it’s got a nice Italian, high end pizza shop feel to it. The decor is very nice. They offer personal pizzas in a combo meal so we went with 2 of those. I got my pizza with roasted red peppers, kalamata olives and pepperoni. The wife went with chicken and sun-dried tomatoes. We both chose Caesar salads.
The salads were excellent. The wood fired pizzas were amazing. I do like my crust a little more well done but the freshness of the toppings were so good. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is very friendly and attentive and seem like they all enjoy working there. This place is a must stop if you’re in Wichita and craving pizza.

This place was just as good as I remembered back when I went right before the pandemic basically closed everything down. The prosciutto pizza was delicious, but the Caesar salad was a hit since it’s one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had in my life. The spicy oil was super delicious especially when I eat it with bread that I wish I had taken some back home. The inside was cozy and it had a fall vibe to it. Overall, I would return to this place.

Extremely disappointed! I love il vicino pizza, they are in my top 3 for pizzas on wichita. I waited 9 months to eat prosciutto ( pregnancy) today we welcomed our baby and this was a treat for me. But, why would they cook the prosciutto? AWFUL .

Giving only 3 stars because of service, I was dissatisfied with the food. Out of 5 plates, 4 were ok. My plate was not fresh at all, and I could see the concern of our server having his hands tied. The service was good, and the workers at the Douglas locations are very nice and kind. Unfortunately, the quality of my plate was terrible to the point where it was not edible. The pasta was super old and reheated, which is a shame because the meatballs were really nice, and the pasta was to the point of spoiling.
I base the scoring on my companion plates, and they were ok with them. The lasagnas were really good, and the pizza was the only plate that was superfresh. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be back. ☹️
Someday, maybe I’ll check the one at the Rock Rd location to compare.
Il Vicino needs to improve the work conditions. Using old food to move stock is terrible. Having cooked food stocks is already unacceptable on a restaurant. Please do better.

Aside from the long wait (I think there was a school pizza party going on or something), this place was very nice! Great pizza options! I had the Bianca, and my wife had the pepperoni and salad. Overall, the pizza was delicious, and authentic! I will definitely consider coming here again when I’m in the mood for pizza! But be warned, it’s on the pricier side, in comparison to places like Pizza Hut and Dominoes. That being said, it’s well worth the money.

I highly recommend the Gluten Free Rice Flour Pizza, it was SO GOOD!!!!
I made the mistake of not ordering the gluten free pizza (distracted by the very cute, nice girl at the counter) and they made it right without charging me extra or getting mad about it.
They treat people right, and make a killer pizza, definitely check it out!
