Whitey’s Jolly Kone is an old-school gem! It’s a classic drive-in style spot where you walk up to the window to order, and they serve up more than just ice cream cones—burgers, hot dogs, and even some Mexican food.
We started with their Big Burger, ordered just like it’s listed on the menu, and it did not disappoint. The patties were juicy, the buns held together beautifully, and the lettuce, onions, and tomatoes were crisp and fresh. We had another with bacon—perfectly cooked and just the right amount. The chunky steak fries were golden and hearty, exactly how fries should be.
All the seating is outside at picnic tables with umbrellas, giving it a fun and relaxed vibe. We didn’t wait long to order, and even though there was a bit of a wait for the food, it was right before the lunch rush, so totally understandable. They call out your order over the intercom when it’s ready.
Pro tip: Try to go before or after the lunch rush—because when it hits, it’s crack-a-lackin’! That said, parking was easy and there seemed to be plenty of it.
Bottom line: Whitey’s serves up one of the best all-American burgers I’ve had in Sacramento. If you’re craving a great burger with no frills, just flavor—this is the place. Don’t sleep on it!
Whitey’s Jolly Kone is a classic spot that never disappoints. The ice cream is rich, creamy, and served in generous portions, and their burgers and snacks are just as good. The vibe is fun and nostalgic, and the service is fast and friendly even when it’s busy. It’s the perfect place for a quick treat or a casual bite with friends and family. A true local favorite and always worth the stop!
Thanks Whitey’s!
