TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We got there as soon as they opened the doors, 1st customers of the day! I gotta say it was GREAT! Staff was amazing and the food even better! Imma a heat freak but the hot was HOT‼️‼️‼️ it was definitely a kick in the butt I didn’t need that early The guy and girls up front were AMAZING, we will most definitely be back! Medium was the perfect spice level and BEST flavor. My only disappointment was the Dave Sauce Honey was much a better fit for me! Place was exceptionally clean overall except the back of the toilet in the woman’s room was pretty gnarly and could use major attention during the shifts! Other than that and needing a location in Athens ASAP, we love this place ❤️

This is my third time eating at Dave’s. The first experience was amazing because we were greeted by the team. Then Chris kindly let us know specifically what the wait times were which allowed us to determine whether or not if we wanted to wait. The service was exceptional from beginning to end. The food was delicious as well. I’m appreciative of the no chicken options since I’m not a meat eater. The cauliflower slider was crispy and seasoned just right. The fries were cooked perfectly and were fresh out of the fryer. This has been my experience each time I go. I will definitely be a returning customer .

Dave’s Hot Chicken is a must try. The food was fresh, the staff was friendly & the store was clean! The sliders & tenders are a really generous portion, but don’t forget the Dave’s sauce! We also tried the frozen strawberry lemonade, yum! We ordered 2 meals & 1 drink and the total was $35. We’ll be back!

This was my first time visiting this establishment. I looked up reviews here and social media prior to going in. My husband, son and I decided to give it a try. My son and my order was okay. Nothing to rave about. The lite mild spice was like a hot Cheetos seasoning. But my husband…, he was pissed with his. He ordered the tender meal with no spice and the tenders looked like giant fried mushrooms. He pulled it apart to see if it was really chicken. It was, but it was fried too long causing it to become tough and dark. We enjoyed the fries and he ate the loaf bread, SMH. The quality of the food was subpar and miserably disappointing. 🙁 Oh and btw, they don’t serve Ranch sauce and you can only get a small dab of Dave’s sauce which would not be enough to eat the humongous tenders.

Let me say- if you like hot food this is your place!!! I’m dead serious. I have heard about the Nashville style hot chicken but I didn’t know it was a heat monster.
First, the store is at the Mall exchange and the foot traffic with Gen Z folks was insane. We went on a Friday evening and the store was pack. The store was relatively clean and inviting. It had tons of young kids working in the kitchen but only two registers open. They were nice and very helpful.
Second, the star of the show is that spicy chicken; you have a list of spice degrees from no sauce to reaper (heck no). I ordered their mild and had to send it back. One of the managers explained that the sauce is pretty much part of the chicken. Nonetheless, it was too hot for me… I had to get the light mild. For me, that was the ticket and the taste I wanted.
Third, the chicken tenders are huge and you only get 2. They are deep fried like Zaxby’s and Magoo’s with their signature batter & sauces. They were actually better than I expected; crunchy, flavorful, and filling. You have to be a super hungry to eat 3 or more- jeez! Again, they are huge tenders or cuts of breast.
Fourth, their prices are on the high side so don’t expect to pay Chick-fil-A prices. Yet still, they still had a line of waiting to buy the chicken.
With that, I would recommend if you want to try a different style chicken tender. However, if you like spicy food I would highly recommend. Now where does Dave’s Hot chicken rank in the area… I would say #5 behind Magoo’s Tenders (you must try), Top-Golf Chicken Sandwich (yes!!), Popeyes, and Zaxby’s. Is it better than Chick-fil-A, I would have to say no because your overall experience while at Chick-fil-A is better but Dave’s chicken is better. Raising Cane ain’t close, trust me.
So try it but go early before Gen Z flood the spot.

Dave’s Hot Chicken never disappoints! The chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. You can choose your spice level — from mild to “reaper” — and every bite is delicious. The sliders and tenders are perfectly seasoned, and the fries are always fresh and golden.
One of the best parts is that the food is 100% halal, which makes it a great spot for everyone to enjoy without worry. The restaurant is clean, the staff are friendly, and service is fast even when it’s busy.

I had heard of Dave’s Hot Chicken over the years, but never had a chance to go as the only location at the time was located in Conyers which is a long way for me to drive. So when I heard that a location had opened near the Mall of Georgia, I decided to check it out. I went during lunch, and thankfully there wasn’t a big crowd. The menu was simple with tenders, sandwiches, fries and a few specials. The staff were kind in explaining how the menu works and the spice levels which range from no hotness to Carolina reaper level the latter which the customer would have to sign a waiver form. I decided to get the hot level of tenders to see if their “Hot” chicken is legit. I had 3 tenders plus bread, pickles and fries. The first bite I took had plenty of flavor and spice. After 1 tender, I was already sweating profusely. I found the combination of honey on the chicken and a drink of Dr.Pepper can help alleviate some of the hotness. I ended up taking the last tender home for my dad to eat and he also agreed that Dave’s chicken truly is hot. The fries, bread and pickles were also good as well. I was impressed with Dave’s and look forward to going back again this time with lower hotness level in mind.

My family ordered from this establishment that opened three months ago. We wanted to see what all the hype was about. This chicken is abnormally seasoned to perfection and you do not have to add any. It comes in several levels of hotness to it.
Their customer service is great and willing to assist you in ordering. The dining space is small inside; however the since outside seating patio area.
We will be coming back.
