The restaurant had a cozy ambiance and the food was very authentic and tasty!! I highly recommend this restaurant as it had great service and amazing variety of food. We tried the chicken tikka jalfrezi (the spicy version) and it was really good. MUST TRY!!! Even the Lamb RoganJosh we amazing!! It was definitely more spicier than the chicken. Nevertheless it paired amazingly with the butter naan. We also tried the veg manchurian which tasted exactly how you would have in India. It felt like a true experience of a restaurant in India‼️

The food prices are a bit on the higher side, but still reasonable for Indian cuisine. The drink prices, however, are excessive – €9 for a small 0.3 L soda is quite steep.
The service was very friendly and had a good sense of humor.
The Chicken Tikka Masala was a bit too spicy for me personally – that was my own choice; opting for “medium” spice would probably have been better. The lamb, on the other hand, had just the right level of spice and was very tasty.
The naan bread was okay, though I’ve had better. The sodas ranged from undrinkable to barely drinkable.

Best curry house I’ve visited in the Netherlands, I’m not local to Rotterdam but try to visit every few months for a fix. Maybe visited 8?-10? times now, always a great standard.

Second time we visit What’s Up India, and second time we really, really enjoyed a delicious diner. Very nice flavors, very good spicy chicken and lamb dishes. We’re sure a third time will come soon.
But there’s one thing that’s rather strange, they served the starters at the same time as the main course. That’s nor relaxed enjoying the starter because of the main course getting cold in the meantime. Next time please some time between start and main. But overall, one of the best Indian restaurants in Rotterdam.

The food is tasty, the ambience nice and the service is very good. The mango lassi was made from fresh mangoes and not artificially sweetened. To get 5 stars in food as a vegetarian, id recommend use of better quality, textured and tasting meat substitutes. I think for non veg items the quality is very close to 5 stars. For Indian food in Rotterdam, this is probably one of the best options. I’ll visit again for sure.

We decided to give it a shot as we ended the city walk by the canal and found it
Rated 4.6 on Google. The waitress and owner are friendly and the English menu was very helpful. The food is standard Indian, nothing wrong and nothing outstanding. We ordered typical lamb curry, chicken biryani, fish tikk, dal soup, garlic roti and mango lassi. All turned out to be reasonable.

You’re required to make a reservation even if the restaurant is completely empty, which felt unnecessary. The ambience is very Turkish — it genuinely looks like it was lifted straight from Turkey. As for the food, the naan and paneer tikka masala were underwhelming, but the biryani and fried rice were absolutely delicious. The mango lassi, however, was terrible. Overall, it’s quite pricey, and the owner could definitely be a bit more courteous.

The one thing they do better than other places is: spicy. The food is actually spicy here when you ask for it. The staff (possibly the owners) are very friendly and welcoming.
I found their raita a bit sweet in comparison to other places, but it was a welcoming sweet taste against the spicyness of their Biryani.
The Biryani had a lot more chicken inside than any other place I have ordered it from.
We had a good take-out experience alltogether and will definitely order again some day.

From start to finish this has been the best Indian restaurant we have been to in the Netherlands and we have been looking for 4 years. We reserved online as it’s quite a busy place we heard . And they even printed of our name on the table which looked very professional. It was cozy when we entered as it’s getting colder now. Fancy set up with the lights. The servers was funny and engaging and polite. All of the dishes we had were delicious okra especially the paneer tikka starter, the other really enjoyed even the batter or the onion bhaji ( which is like a deconstructed version here) . The mains we had were , a lamb, chicken , a yellow Dahl and a veggie option. All delicious. Especially the lamb which can be a hit or miss and too oiled. None of the food was too oiled or fatty. Good quality meats. We will be back for certain!
(One tip: improve the pornstar martini).

This little gem is tucked away just a stones throw away from the train station. Very impressive decor, giving a classic and vintage Indian vibe. Was the food able to match the extravagant interior?! 100%! Hands down, the best Butter Chicken Masala I’ve had! Compliments to the chef! An authentic mix of spices, with cooked succulent chicken! They have variation choices in the menu, which seems to be a common theme in Rotterdam restaurants, giving you the option of heat levels. The medium/Spicy was just right, with a manageable kick! Any more then it would’ve been uncomfortable! Personal preference. The service was great, friendly and efficient. Please ensure you book in advance and respond to the team notifying them you are attending, or you’re reservation could be lost! Don’t avoid disappointment, as this place is worth it! Overall a great experience! One EBI, they could develop their dessert menu a little more, as the selection is limited. Keep up the great work, and I will certainly recommend this place to anyone who visits Rotterdam looking for a great Indian!
