Social Profile:

Pho Lang Thang began like many restaurants do, people missing food from their youth, brothers Bao and Duy Nguyen, along with friend David Le, wanted to bring pho, banh mi, bun and other classic Vietnamese staples to the Cincinnati area, just as the city’s culinary renaissance was beginning to take off. They set up shop in a cozy corner space in the heart of Over-the-Rhine’s historic Findlay Market. Here they found a quick audience, routinely overflowing the tiny space, gaining new fans weekly, and even appearing on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Eventually PLT outgrew the space and relocated around the corner to Race Street.

Upbeat Vietnamese joint inside Findlay Market for bowls of pho & banh mi sandwiches.

We were looking for somewhere to have dinner in the OTR area and this place came up as a popular option. I really enjoyed everything we tried, including the grilled chicken plate, which was something I hadn’t seen at many other Vietnamese restaurants. Also, the pho was really flavorful and delicious!

Great spot! I’m from a very Vietnamese area and this pho matched some of the best I’ve had. Definitely more of a western, modern vibe than a traditional Vietnamese pho house but great food with lots of food. Would recommend.

We ordered the chicken wings and beef pho with steak. The pho was amazing. The chicken wings were literally rancid…. I don’t know if the pho being amazing balances out food safety

Horrible. I ordered from delivery platform. 12oz Chicken Congee, only half cup is congee, the other HALF CUP are cilantro, onion, scallions. I never eat a congee comes with that much cilantro onion scallion. Half Cup!! And it has a hair inside. Bread? They put mayo on it. I never saw any Banh Mi – Heo (Pork) put mayo on it before. Unbelievable…… Awful……I throw out most of the food.

Can get noisy at times and hard to hear. The pho is good but be sure to check your order before you go. I’ve asked for extra cilantro and basil a couple times before and got none. This time I still got very little basil and for extra cilantro they gave me a bunch of stems. The last two times I went I received soggy brown cilantro with my noodles – NOT OK.

The worst pho I ever had! You can barely pick up the noodles, they are too ver cooked and too soft! The vegetables wasn’t fresh neither!

A modern and vibrant Vietnamese spot with retro décor and classic selections. The pho was decent if a bit on the safe side – I wished the brisket were rarer and the jalapeños spicier. Overall still a solid stop for Vietnamese comfort food in the city.

There are only two Vietnamese restaurants I go for the Pho and sandwich, Pho Lang Thang is the one when I am in downtown area. Everytime I go I couldn’t help to order so much cause everything is so good there and I just wanted to try everything on the menu. Beside the typical Pho Noodle soup, I always order the raw beef on the shrimp cracker, it’s so tasty and Unique. If you guys in downtown area, you have to try it, it’s a trendy place with traditional Vietnamese food.

We are sick to death of having to explain to YOUR customers that we did everything we could to keep the food containers upright and secure, because YOU, THE RESTAURANT, could not be bothered to care one iota about their food being packed securely. You serve SOUP. You have to pack that properly if you don’t want the containers to spill. Get your house in order.
