It all began in 1993, when two local boys in Gulf Shores, Alabama decided to open up a casual family-focused seafood restaurant on the Gulf Coast. The idea was to create a restaurant where people would feel welcome to be themselves, families could afford to dine out together and strangers would leave as friends. Coastal vacationers demanded that Shrimp Basket expand to provide this incredible seafood value to those unable to be at the beach year round. Today, we’re happy to offer locations across the Southeast for family and friends to feel a part of the beach, dine and enjoy delicious seafood! At the Shrimp Basket, our goal is to make sure that you – our friends – leave happy and satisfied after every visit.

We had an estimated wait of 10 min. Which I believe was closer to 20, since they were serving a large party in the convertible to outdoor space. Walled off the noise from that group was barely noticeable. They can certainly accommodate large parties as a result. There both booths and tables as well has a bar. Though they wouldn’t serve us our drinks until we were seated. I believe they were a little short staffed. But they did have a hostess present and are equipped for pickup and take out orders. A cute sea life beach them decor from entrance on through to even the bathrooms. The soup etouffee was delicious and the salad fresh, the poor boy over flowing with shrimp and the cocktail sauce sharp with tangy horseradish ( strong enough to make your nose burn, but I love it with a bite). The server memorized our order, got everything right and kept a great check on us, even providing large to go cups when we were ready to leave. The only con , my grilled shrimp was a tad over done and therefore hard to peel ( comes shell on ) .

I had an amazing dining experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to our waiter, Trey. From the moment we were seated, Trey was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. He greeted us with a genuine smile and immediately made us feel comfortable and taken care of.
Trey was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations, answering all of our questions patiently and honestly. Our drinks stayed full, the food came out hot and fresh, and he checked on us frequently without ever being overbearing. You can tell he truly cares about providing excellent service and making sure guests have a great dining experience.
What really stood out was Trey’s positive attitude and professionalism—he was friendly, polite, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s rare to find service this consistently good, and he definitely elevated our entire meal.
If you’re dining at Shrimp Basket in Cullman, I highly recommend asking for Trey White. He’s an absolute asset to the restaurant, and because of him, we’ll definitely be back!

I’ve lived in Cullman for most of my life and I’ve never eaten at the Shrimp Basket before and let me tell you it was THE best experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food was not only amazing but also affordable compared to other places around here. The customer service was very welcoming and helpful with anything needed. And a special shoutout to Trey who was our server did an absolute fantastic job taking care of us We will definitely be coming back again soon!!

On Sunday night, we stopped by for a meal, and it really hit the spot. Our server, Trey, recommended the meal deal—a drink, a starter, and an entree starting at just $12. Can’t beat that deal! We’re definitely planning to come back again!

Excellent service outside as we enjoyed lunch with our pup in tow. They love well behaved dogs who bring their people with them. I had the seafood basket and the wife enjoyed the house salad with fried shrimp. Plenty of good food and nice people.
